My Samsung s7 headphones don't work with my iPod nano?

I have Samsung galaxy s7 headphones that came with the phone, just white generic Samsung headphones and they work on my ipad and mac and my galaxy but not on my iPod nano when I plug them in. I hear the little click when they get pushed in, so I know the iPod recognizes it, but can't hear any music or sound.

Sometimes you may hear and/or feel a click, but it may not be going in all the way to make a proper connection because of a tight fit. Try to make sure it is going in all the way without forcing it and see if that helps.

my old nano was a finkiy bugger. skull candies worked no problem.

but my iPod and Samsung head phones I push em in to just before the click and they work. so some weird reason
