My Split capture feature ain't working

There are many features I don't use anymore or never used. When I first got the HTC one m8 the split capture was like a video call, most was back camera while small square was front camera. Now its true split screen. Problem is it isn't working. Sometimes it works perfectly when using video other times it starts to take video and immediately it stops. Anyone having this issue?
