My Touch Phones getting 2.2 soon

This is announced just as I'm ditching my MT3G for Verizon and the Incredible

Just found this on another site. I'm pretty excited. I really didn't expect the MTG3 to get Froyo. Eclair, yes. Froyo, no. So this is pretty cool!

Does anyone know where you could go to manually push this update? For some reason, OTA's don't ever download on my MT3G so I'm stuck on 1.5 lol.

android and me are also reporting that it will be vanilla froyo 2.2 as well. r they reliable? i'd love it to be vanilla.

I would trust A&ME. I hope it's vanilla. I'm not a fan of that funky Expresso UI Tmobile put into the Slide.

if the 2.2 update does convert us to sense ui would that be a loop hole to get out of contract etf free? i was told when i signed up i'd be upgraded to 2.1 expecting it to be vanilla why i chose the MT3G. i came from a sprint hero and couldnt stand sense my bad for not getting a moment before my 30 days were up!

I do not think that would allow you out of your contract and you may be able to turn it off.

I've used sense before and it is intergrated into the os, u can turn it off but not fully. unless ur right and u can full turn off espresso!

I think the mytouch 3g will get2.2 during end. of November and the first half of December because cyanogen mod 6 came out and it will tale sometime for tmo to customize it and also phones are supposed to be finished receiving 2.2 by December

i honestly dont think it will take until christmas, but then again, the phone still runs solid for what its got, yes the update will be nice, but i dont see what all the hurry is. there isn't even a fully stable 2.2 ROM yet, they are close, but most major ones are still in release candidate status yet.

but as we all know, Verizon has already updated many of its droid phones to 2.2, but then has had to issue updates because they did it in a hurry. a little patience is not uncalled for. and if you absolutely cannot wait, then root your phone, but then you run the risk of bricking, or not being supported by ANY tech support, and you are the only one in the world to blame if something happens.. personally I havn't lost total patience yet, though I know I have the skill and ability to hack my phone, I like being able to still get a replacement phone if something outside of my control happens.

I'm not holding my breath for 2.2 to come out on Mytouch 3g. I got fed up with waiting for Froyo when they announced it would come out soon ages ago and just rooted my phone to a Froyo ROM, which works much better IMO than a stock rom. (: I highly doubt that T-Mobile will release the update IF they do then it doesn't matter to me because I don't plan on going back to the stock OS.

i feel the same way as well. i ran Quadrant benchmark tests on the phone before rooting any installing Froyo and got about twice the original score (orig. 173, now 352) and even my data connection is more stable. i used to have problems with the connection while downloading apps from the market, but now im getting faster speeds and i almost never lose connection.
