My WhiteStone Dome is here!!!

Really.wow .sorry to hear that... . I have always had good luck removing the sticky loca from the digitizers. I have also used rubbing alcohol. I actually got the tip off a YouTube channel.... I am glad it worked out

The WD40 did make it non-sticky and basically turned it into a rubber-cement-like gel. I scratched a bunch of the goo off, but I wasn't going to get all the gunk off of it without a razor blade and a lot of time (and I probably would have managed to scratch the hell out of it in the process, knowing my luck, lol).

Ok. I never order a Whitestone dome but I did order the new nano liquid from spigen. I can said that there is no glass or plastic on my phone. Is just a liquid on the phone. I have use this for two days without case on my Note 8 and I feel safe. Just a naked phone and free of scratches on screen or back

As for right now I don't see any scratch on my phone. 2 days with my keys and phone on my pocket. So far so good

Yes. 0 scratches on my phone. At first I was worried that I was going to scratch the screen since there is no protection on it. But every day I use the phone I feel better knowing that it is protected and there is nothing to worry about any case. I can use any case, *don't use this case because it will not fit with your screen protector * not my case. I can use any brand. Any size.

That's good to hear but I still don't trust it enough... but glad you're happy with it

After buying several different screen protectors and none of them fitting with my cases properly or being transparent enough or responsive enough I finally found one that's perfect. Highly recommending this one. Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector, Smash-It [Case Friendly Tempered Glass] Screen Protector for Front [Work with S-Pen] [Error Proof Installation] + 1 Piece Carbon Fibre Skin for Back https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0755574H...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6040525

I bought this based on recommendations here on this forum.
Due tomorrow.
I'll report back.

It's so unfortunate that there's no reliable solution, yet, for glass protection for the N8. Early days, I guess. Every product has questionable ratings, some really bad, some have really happy customers that promote the product despite the mediocre ratings from other buyers. Plus, some cost more than many of us are willing to spend, but then they end up spending more on a number of products that just don't work for them!

Hopefully, a glass solution will come along that is affordable, and has highly repeatable success like many of the film products. I have a wet-apply film on my N8 now and it's just as great as every other similar film product I've used for years. Near perfect ratings, $8 for a couple of 'em, no bubbles, perfectly clear, sides stay down 100%. The only problem for the N8, for me, is that the stylus prefers a harder surface, so this protector has too much friction. Hence, I need glass.

We'll see about the Smash-It product. I have high hopes!

I'm still loving mine. Works great. Hope you like it too!!

I have some bubbles and cracks develop in the last month on the Dome I installed for my wife and myself. Whitestone support was very lax in responding to my e-mails.
They do have a support page to register your purchase and start and RMA .

There is a cost involved with the RMA. Plus you do have to scrape off the old one and mail it back.

It's kind of an insult to pay 30% to get a replacement product.

I hope a perspective buyer sees this and thinks twice. Paying a 30% fee is outrages.

There are some owners that swear by certain protectors, and for them, it's great that they have exactly what they want.

The overall problem with protectors for the N8 is that there is no one product, or group of like products, that are affordable and that can be reliably installed by most of the folks that buy them. With other phones I've owned, like the Pixel XL I had last year, it was a slam-dunk. There were a bunch of glass products that cost about $12 that worked for 95+% of the people that bought them. You could recommend those products and almost always be assured that new buyers will love them, and continue to do so over time.

Sorry to hear about the Dome experience of the previous poster. Yet another issue with a product that a lot of issues for a lot of buyers.

Still waiting for the protector.
