My Z3C Has Arrived - First Impressions (share yours as well)

Have any of you come from a larger device and have found this one too small? I want to buy it over the z3 mainly because of the price but coming from the nexus 5 then G3 not sure if it's going to be shocking to use. Sort of wish there was a size between this and the larger version. Any responses appreciated. i'm buying a new phone tonight!

I'm coming from a Nexus 5. I was worried that reading text wouldn't be as crisp and that I'd miss the screen real estate, but I don't. Very happy with the Z3C's size.

Came from a Note 2 to a Moto x which was 4.7". loved it. Bought a z3c because of the size then sold it to see if I'd like the Moto X 2014 . I am sending the X back and ordered a new z3 off of the US site. For me it was more of a shock going from the small phone to a bigger one. The trend is over 5" screens but my guess is that if many people would go back to a more compact phone they'd love it. Sony needs to get this thing to US carriers, even the 4.7" Iphone is as big as 5" androids

Has anyone noticed that screen brightness set to auto doesn't really do anything?

Have had my Z3 Compact for a couple of days.
Settling in now.
Size is a sweet spot for me. Love it.
Not as sweet regarding in-hand feel compared to my XT1053 Moto X .
Camera, battery more than makes up for it.
Battery capacity is probably a reason for it's squarish form, a reasonable trade-off IMO.
Software bloat, while noticeable, isn't a dominate feature and might be correctable once I get at it.
Camera is excellent, picture quality is great right out of the box.
Will take a few more days for battery evaluation, indications are it's very good.
Magnetic charging cable, if as advertised, will complete my checklist of desirable options.[Didn't arrive yet]
Signal quality is fine for me. LTE all the time at home...haven't really gone anywhere yet to test traveling.
Glancing at my punch list, nothing glaring is missing.
Good job Sony, you did your homework.
Think this phone is a keeper.

First thing I noticed is how much faster this is than my galaxy S5. Touchwiz bogs Samsung phones down so much.

Has anyone that has received their Sony Xperia Compact z3 from the Sony USA site - any problems with getting LTE to work out of the box? Did you have to input any special APN settings? Did you have to request any special nano sim cards from AT&T?

I went to my local AT&T store to get a nano SIM card, which they kindly provided free of charge. They did have to activate it as well in order for me to get service.

I didn't have to do a thing. Walked into AT&T and got a gophone sim card with some minutes and data in order to test LTE coverage in my area. Didn't have my phone yet so had to text the sales rep my imei to get data. Texted him and he put in the imei and it's been all good. Been getting LTE speeds no problem and didn't have to do a thing to my phone.

A few things I've noticed on this otherwise awesome phone.

-Takes awhile to lock in a GPS signal. Once locked it's fine, just takes longer than my gs3

-Above.is true of a Bluetooth connection. I feel like I'm waiting in my car to connect, where with my gs3 it was much faster.

-I use spotify and stitcher quite a bit. Even if I close the stitcher app entirely, it always open on default through a Bluetooth connection. Seems odd.

Other than those niggles, this is just such a great phone. T-mobile Lte is fine and fast. It's a comfortable phone to use and keep in my pocket. Other than following maps, I don't miss the larger phone. This was a good move!

I connected my Z3C to my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee via Bluetooth and much to my surprise, I saw a message flash up on the Jeep's console. It said that it supported Sony's "throw" feature, but I haven't gotten it to work yet.

Follow-up to prior post:
Got a cheap magnetic usb charging cable from Amazon.
BAM, works great.
A bit quirky regarding placement. Once it snaps in it's good to go.
While non-timed it charges faster than the mini-usb to wall outlet.
Will rarely utilize the mini-usb connection now, never for charging.

Dont magnets mess with the phones screen or internals or something? Or is an old tale?
