N4 Native text app does not show google voice number

I'm using google voice, and noticed the N4 native text app (green smiley face box on the bottom of the screen) is not working correctly with my google voice number. When i text using the N4 native app, the phone that shows up is my Tmobile #. When i text using google voice app, the google number shows up. However, when I call using the N4 native dialer my google voice number shows up. So therefore, is it normal for the N4 native text to show my tmobile number instead of my google number? If this is not normal, what's the solution?

It is normal and the solution is to not use the native text app.

It supports SMS, it doesn't support MMS (pics). I get around sending MMS by uploading to IMGUR and sending people links. There are apps that make it easy.

If you don't thinks to get confusing just disable the stock Messaging app which will force everything through your texting app of choice (in your choice Google voice)
