N7 2013 Lollipop Face Unlock how do you make this work now?

Upgraded to 5.0, trained it in Settings to recognize my face, but it doesn't unlock and insists on the PIN every time.

What am I missing here?

I hate having to enter a PIN every time. Used to work two Android updates ago!
