N7 being repaired - will repairers be able to access all my files/accounts?

My Nexus 7 died (wouldn't turn on/charge). The shop has given me a replacement, and I'm going to give them the broken one which they're going to try and repair. My concern is that if they do repair it, they'll have access to all my accounts and data...

I have a password on my device, will they be able to bypass that without a factory reset?

Thanks

I don't think they will be able to bypass your password. They might need/want to get passed it to ensure it's functioning properly, though, I'm not 100% on that one.

I always recommend doing a full factory reset prior to sending a device in for service. It's the safest route.

Thanks Kevin.

Yes, I would normally do a factory reset, as you recommend MJK, but the tablet is so dead it won't even factory reset.
