Nandroid/Ti Backup Question

I get the delay when going to dalvik, but never an error message. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but I would get a magnifying glass (if needed...what's up the tiniest text in the wolrd?), write that error down and google it.

Tell me how you like Nova and if it feels very different from CND's launcher. I've been thinking about trying it, but haven't made the jump yet.

Love Nova...it's just stock ICS launcher with some key features
added.

What recovery are you using?

That seems like an odd place for an error to me (after selecting, before confirming). I would be more concerned if it happened after confirming, though. Maybe a re-flash of the recovery image would help.

Using clockwork from ROM manager.

It says:

"Clockwork Recovery 5.5.0.4"
"E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"

OK, I'm going to try it (it's all your fault if I'm not happy :D).

One question...Did you end up downloading the NovaLauncherUpdate.zip from xda and flashing it just like you would flash a ROM/kernel?

sd ext is a partition that you would have to make - you dont have it so when it scans it can't find it.
this is normal.

re: nova launcher - it's amazing. stock but better just like you said, and features everywhere.

Couple of followup Nova questions.

How is the Nova launcher itself restored after flashing a ROM? Does it stay forever as the system launcher after being flashed for the first time, or do I have to re-flash it each time I flash a ROM (kind of like you have to do for a specific kernel), or do I restore it through Titanium after my apps have finished downloading?

How do you restore your home screens after flashing a ROM (when using Nova as your launcher)? Is there some backup feature in Nova that I'm not finding, or do you just restore the Nova app and data from Titanium?

you can sideload nova again after you wipe and flash a new rom - or you can make a titanium backup of the app and restore it that way.

you can backup homescreen layout and launcher settings by going to Nova Settings - Backup.
To get to nova settings, not sure what rom you're on but try this:
long press on the homescreen, and select nova actions, and then select nova settings - this will give you the nova settings in a widget. from there go to backup and after that its basically self-explanatory.

Other way without making a widget is to go into your app drawer, click the menu dots where the market button is in stock, and then select Nova settings.
