Nav bar won't hide and dot is gone after update.

I checked other posts but none were resolved. The dot on the nav bar is gone and I cant get the nav bar to hide. I have a Note 9. It is in the way of so many things but has made replying to emails a nightmare.

With the new navigation bar, you can select the "Full Screen Gestures" that keeps it hidden. You swipe up from the bottom to perform the action you want.

there is no more dot in Pie.
but you can try the gestures bar instead
