Ok guys, and girls, I need some help. I updated with new new ATT update and I have a few problems. First, the phone randomly reboots. There is no timetable to it, but it seems to happen after 1 or 3 or 5 to 10 minutes. But, then sometimes less than a minute. I cannot update any apps and have been trying to download an app to backup my texts before I do the dreaded factory reset. I have pulled the battery, shut the phone down for a day, everything I know to do to get it working. Oh, and I cannot backup to my laptop with HTC Sync. I attempted that this weekend and the phone was recognized once after about 100 attempts (yes, around that many that I lost count). I have tried to not update any apps that are due an update and just try to download the backup and restore app, but sometimes it downloads and resets; then sometimes downloads the app and resets after it is almost through with the install. It's like it will not install or download any app updates. So, I just left the phone on and did nothing. It randomly resets even when doing nothing. ATT support was baffled and said to call HTC and provided the number to call. The HTC rep said the only resolution was a factory reset. There is one set of texts I want to be able to save so that is why I am trying to download. Oh, and battery life is miserable and drains extremely quickly. So, if any of y'all have any solutions before I do a factory reset, please advise. I literally want to throw the phone down on the street I am so frustrated. Thank you in advance.

Sms back up plus seems to have rave reviews its most likely conflicting code and after the system wipe whould work fine I personally don't care about text. So I'm probobly not the person to talk to 0.0 but ill try to help

well, it seems that any app that attempts to update triggers a reboot. as soon as an app attempts to install after downloading causes the phone to reboot. looks like a factory reset is my last attempt to resolve the problem. unless y'all can think of an alternative...

update. so, i disabled the att connection and went wi fi only. sms backup successfully downloaded and i was able to back up the text i needed to. now, we'll see if the phone still randomly reboots

Oh hell UK what the issue is they included a new radio in the from so its conflicting with art data connection yea wifi should work as a work around now if you enable side loading and put it in the SD card and look it up with a file explorer its possible oh disable art data connection!! When you do the system update it should redo the radio and problem solved

Oh try SMS back up and restore not much eye candy but it survived a from flash just redownload it and extract the text files.XML ;)

I finally got the sms update and restore app to download after disabling att/mobile network. but, the phone still randomly resets. got fed up and just turned it off. did a hard reset tonight and the mobile network connection is not available. its greyed out and not even an option. i can get on wifi no problem. on hold now with att and the rep is befuddled. she said it takes up to 24 hours for an update and when i told her it had been almost 2 weeks, she has transferred me. ugh....

at&t is a joke bro back up the text and settings and do the dreaded factory reset and never do a hard reset with 2 radios trying to compete you'll wipe it but so the factory reset or power volume down go into what's knows as h boot use the volume keys to navigate and power to select select t restore make sure you have 100% battery and just do it

att has offered to replace the phone with another "upgrade" phone and wanted to re-up me for 2 more years. i said no. they said i could do insurance and i told them why should i pay for something that is not my fault as i followed THEIR instructions on the update. i may entertain myself and go to an att store tomorrow and see what they can do. a sim card switch was offered as i have two phones, but i made sure they understood the phone worked just fine before the glorious update. thank goodness this is my backup phone and i don't need it for everyday use....

No listen to me full battery back up your text messeges get what you can to the SD card TURN IT OFF PULL THE BATTERY OUT FOR 5 MINITS PUT IT BACK IN PRESS THE POWER BUTTON AND VOL DOWN IT WILL GO TO A WHITE SCREEN AND IT WILL HAVE THE ANDROID ICONS ON A SKATE BOARD USE THE VOL AS SCROLLING USE THE POWER KEY TO SELECT HIGH LIGHT RECOVERY AND PRESS IT THE ATT; POE ARE ING BRAIN DEAD AND ONLY WNAT YOUR MONEY TRUST ME DO THE RECOVERY

To make long story short, it was not time for me to get a phone upgrade So I got my wifes upgrade on my number. So ATT switch IMEI ID'S.

Oh OK that's differant I've actually done that before (my sisters plan and added my mom took the new phone got rid of the old) but yea if that phone was switched through at&t officially when they take the old phone off they cancel the imie off that sim and transfer it with the new one that's y they scan the old one and the new one so that imie is the original to the phone so no you shouldn't have any issues

Well they Did not do it at the ATT store I had to Call ATT customer service myself and I follow instructions.
