Alright i need a little feedback on if it is worth it for me to get the razr maxx... my biggest gripe is battery life on android and im trying to get user experiences on the maxx to push me to it.

I had the orig razr and loved it just hated batt life.

Currently am on the galaxy nexus with extended battery but still am lucky if i can get ten hours out of it and thats only on 3g without really making phone calls only browsing sites and texting.

I also have a rezound which i love and had no issues with and suprisingly could het 12-14 hours of use with and still close to 40% left. Dont know how im managing good battery life with it on standard over my nexus extended but i am.

Anyways for some odd reason i cant help but want more out of my phone. I want that peace of mind that i dont have to plug my phone in midway through work so i know that when my shift is over and go to the gym my phone wont be dead. I didnt have to do this with the rezound at all but for whatever reason i have already become bored of the rezounds style.

I know im crazy having all these devices/wanting. I got a problem lol. The battery life is really drawing me to this. I really want that peace of mind that i wont necessarily have to charge it every single day.

I just bought the maxx. Coming from the galaxy nexus aswell. With Verizon's 14 day return policy I have till the 12th to return the razr. After only about 3-4 days with this phone I think I have made up my mind that I'll be keeping it. The battery life is fairly amazing to say the least. Working on 17hrs and have 65% bat left. I consider myself to be an average data user, play words with friends stream music for about 2 hrs a day, text, YouTube, phone calls, browser, etc. Yes the razr does lack the simplicity of ICS and has a lot of bloatware. The screen maybe brighter but I find it personally not to be as soft and warm as the nexus. Blur is less desirable to me then my previous HTC and sense. The nexus is a beautiful phone, sleek, clean, polished look. The razr seems to be more "Droid" like if you know what i mean. Over all though, I don't have to worry about not having to have a charger, call quality and signal strength seems better. ICS should be here soon (hoping by end of feb). To me it's about the battery. My nexus was rooted, verizon extended batt, was running codename android rom with Franco kernel... it helped with the battery but I'm running a stock razr maxx and killing my nexus uptime.

I appreciate the response. As much as i like thr sleekness of the nexus and ics i feel like hardware wise the razr will beat it... and from the leaked ics shots for razr it looks promising.. i honestly believe ur post alone made it a little easier for me to make the decision.. another big thing with battery is its so annoying if i have plans and im not driving i always seem to have to grab my car charger because i just know i wont have a living phone by end of my time out. Being at work is a little different because always near an outlet .. i really enjoyed the razr when i had it and the one thing i liked about it was the ability to uninstall some bloat and hide apps evem not being rooted. I for one dont root nor have. Tbh never tried . So its ot that huge of a deal to me. Its killing me thay my nexus has been on for close to 8 hours and im at 10% life with barley any use.

The Razr v Galaxy Nexus was a tough call for me, too. It appeared to me the advantages of the GN were the removable battery (so I could carry a few spares when I go hiking or spend the day in airports), ICS, better accessories (if they every actually arrive), and higher screen resolution (though not really a noticeable difference). The advantages of the Razr were the more solid feel, better radio (based on reviews), louder speakers (based on reviews), and SD card.

But the Razr Maxx bigger battery tipped the scales and I bought it. The battery life is great! Just as a test, I ran videos on it all day today for 12 hours! The battery was at 97% when I started and a few moments after 12 hours the video stopped when a warning message came up saying I have 15% left. Without running videos, the thing will run more than 24 hours with moderate use.

It has things I wish were a bit different, but I'm comfortable with the choice.

I am the same way when it comes to phones. I have had the Rezound, Razr, Nexus, and now the Maxx. All have pluses and minuses and it all comes down to which shortcoming are you willing to deal with. For me, the Rezound was a nice device with suprisingly good battery life but not knowing an ICS update at the time was a deal breaker. The Razr battery sucked so i returned it. With the Nexus, the screen was beautiful and I liked the new look of ICS. I too bought the extended battery which helped but not enough for my liking . My biggest issue with the Nexus was the dropped connections. I can't gell you how many times I would go to check my email or look something up only to get no data connection error. Now with the Maxx, the battery has been ridiculous. I do get the occasional unexplained drop connection but I can deal with it especially with the battery life I am getting and an ICS update down the road.

I guess the one benefit i have is im not going to give up my rezound or nexus so i wont have remorse for trading one in for the maxx ill just have a ridiculous line up of phones to switch back and forth from.

If I could have all three I would. Each one has it's own set of great features.
