I dropped my Galaxy Nexus in the water bucket couple of days back Tried the usual rice trick, pulling out the battery, etc. but all that happens is that I see the Google logo and the phone reboots every few seconds. Can't even get into recovery. Even with WugFresh's tool

The phone is rooted and unlocked, and my fear is that Verizon may not honor the warranty when they see the unlock icon.

Pleading for urgent help as I can't afford the charges if they don't honor the warranty.

Thanks in advance.

Dropping in water is not covered under Verizon warrant you should be using your insurance through asurion. If you use warranty you will more than likely get charged once they open it up and see water damage.

If the water indicator indicates water damage, you're out of luck with the warranty. If for some reason it doesn't, then usually the warranty is still in force.

As stated, you're not going to get warranty coverage anyway on a phone with water damage. If you have insurance then don't worry about it being rooted and unlocked as Asurion won't care. File the claim now and get a new phone.

Warranties are to cover against manufacturing defects not brain farts.
Since when did people start referring to toilets as water buckets??? :D

I'm still baffled at how often this happens...
