Question Need help, not receiving software updates in new s24 plus phone

You want to go to the U1 firmware which is unlocked?
What sim card you have installed that has CSC code GCF
I think its unlocked because at the end it says XAA in the software service provider i think but seems to me it was a sim locked phone thats been unlocked now? And im not from the USA so i dont have any US sims. Would putting a US sim instigate the OTA updates to happen?

Hi @mustang7757 , I have a similar problem with my S24 and I have read the entire thread. However I have a few questions.
1. If I switch from U to U1, will I be receiving OTA updates automatically Or I have to go through this process everytime there's an update?
2. Will I be receiving the monthly security patch updates?

Below are relevant details.
- Model name: SM-S921U
- Service provider software version: SAOMC_SM-S921U_OYM_XAA_14_0014_XAA/XAA,XAA/ATT
- I bought it brand new from a vendor in Nigeria
- sims here such as Airtel works.

@sahmy Hello, If you want to just get OTA change the csc don't do the firmware stuff i had the same issue just changed csc to DSA and everything is working and getting updates.

How do I change the CSC?
I don't know which solution is best.
My main issue is that I am using ATT outside of the US. This is limiting me from getting updates.
I want to be able to get the latest updates. My security patch is still in January

Changing CSC is also unlocking?
Is it also changing from U to U1?

How do I do that then?
I am in Nigeria

I am actually very confused as to what to do, can you please guide me

You have to flash the whole firmware with Odin and Frija firmware tool not just CSC

Anytime, if you run into anything let me know
Hello once again, I have followed the steps but encountered the following issues:
1. Frija did not automatically detect my phone. Then I typed the details manually using ATT as CSC, it said "warning: ATT CSC code is not supported". Then I tried XAA, it said "Error: Firmware information for provided Model/CSC not found". The only CSC that found a firmware for my Model and IMEI were: USC, CHA, TMB, and TMK. with version number S921USQS2AXE4/S921UOYN2AXE4/S921USQS2AXE4

2. While downloading Odin from sammobile, I could not search my model number in any country except USA (T-Mobile) (TMB). But my carrier is ATT not TMB.

3. From the youtube video you added. It says to activate OEM unlocking and USB debugging. The OEM option is not showing in my developers option and USB debug... cannot turn on. its gray.

What do I do from here please?

So you have auto and manual mode in Frija , choose manual and put the model number of the unlock firmware and region XAA or TMB

Ok, its downloading. What about the USB debugging that cannot be turned on and OEM unlocking. Does it matter?

Also, Correct me if I am wrong, but when I flash the firmware to the latest version, will I have to keep flashing every time there is an update?

OEM unlock is to unlock bootloader which US version u can't and you don't need USB debugging, you will have normal OTA

Hello @mustang7757 , thanks for your help. I did not want to risk doing something wrong that could affect my chance of requesting a refund or replacement. So, I explained the situation to the vendor and requested a fix, refund, or replacement. The in-house engineer changed the firmware to TMB, which came with April's security update, and I updated through the months till the most recent one (June). Even if I did not do it myself, your assistance helped me discuss the issue clearly with them.

So I am going to revive this thread. @mustang7757 Are you still active here?

So here is my issue. I live in Pakistan and we get these leftover USA imports. I got myself an S24+ from the lot which is CPID active. If you are not aware of CPID here is the explainer. "A CPID (Client Process ID) phone is a phone that has had its IMEI number changed using server-based software. This technique is used to unlock the phone's IMEI and allow it to work on other networks." CPID phones are normally sold here although illegal they bypass the local taxes that should be illegal to start with. A $1000 brand-new phone will require a $600 unlock tax and an imported S24+ that I got for around $500 still requires $500 tax to be paid. This is another debate.

Now to the problem. This phone seems to have S23 Ultra GCF service provider software version. Screenshots attached. Therefore I am not getting updates on the phone. Last security patch level is November 2024. I am comfortable with using odin and flashing no problems there. I just need direction on:
  1. What firmware should I flash? U1 or anything else?
  2. Which CSC
  3. Would flashing interfere with CPID unlock?
If you have posted the answer before, I apologize, I will go through the thread again. If not, kindly tell me what could be done. Thanks.

P.S There is no return of the phone and sorts. Thanks.
