Need help recovering contacts

My wife bricked her Stratosphere after dropping it one time to many. Screen is black, but the phone boots. She got on Samsung's help chat last night and the person on there said there is no way she can recover her contacts. Is he right or is there a way they wouldn't want you to know how to do it? She didn't sync her contacts to Google like I told her to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are on Verizon, she may be able to get them from backup assistant. Having said that, a Verizion rep told us the best thing is sync with google. Backup assistant sucks. I had go download her contacts (she has lots, 200 +, work phone) & manually recreate them in Google. :-(
Does she have them on an old phone? You might be able to get them from it.
We both have Strats. After our problem, we synched both with google and have csv file backups. I save new contacts directly to google. Once it's all set up, it does work well. I hope this helps.
