Need help with OS update

Hi! I have a Note 3 and got a notification for an OS update. I downloaded it but when I went to install it, I got a message saying that the device had been modified and can't install updates. The phone was brand new when I got it and I have never modified it in any way. Any idea why I would get this error message?

Welcome back! Did you get it brand new from the carrier, or from some other store? It's possible the phone was a return, and the previous owner had rooted it, then unrooted it before returning it. Stores aren't supposed to sell you a returned phone as brand new, but I wouldn't put it past some retailers to do this from time to time. How long ago did you get the phone?

Have you tried using Samsung Kies or Samsung Smart Switch? If worse comes to worst, you could flash the firmware using Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html
