need help with signal

My brother in law finnaly switched from webOS to android he bought an incredible he activated it programmed it blah blah his signal bars are showing and everything except for his 3G symbol ive checked everything and his data roaming is on any help?

yeah i did also theres a weird little symbol its like a an r facing down with a slash then a white bubble under the slash

That symbol is , Phone speaker is mute

wow i feel dumb i guess ive never noticed that because mine is always on vibrate but still without that symbol now its just showing perfect bars without 3G

so you dont see any 3G or do you see it and it is gray

Go into settings / networks you gotta have data off then make sure mobile network is checked

under , settings , wireless networks, is mobile network checked?

yes it actually is greyed out and says turning on but it has said that for about an hour and will sumtimes flicker from being connected to back to turning on....

have you used back up assistant for the phone numbers, you may have to do a factory restore and if that doesnt work i would call verizon or go directly to the store

or call them now and tell them whats going on, maybe they need to reset your plan or something

yes it makes cals perfectly just will not do stuff with internet
