I just got a Galaxy Tab A 8, and the UI fills the screen so fully to the edges that the menu ellipsis ( ... ) that developers put into their applications aren't visible, nor are any toolbars, either at the top or bottom.

Is there a way to reduce the size or resolution of the screen, so there is room for controls st the edges of the screen? The only alternative is for developers to modify their applications and re-scale them so all the controls fit, which isn't possible in most cases, because the developers quit developing the apps or just won't bother.

Samsung seems to want to completely control your tablet, not allowing you to be able to operate applications in the way the devs programmed them.

What app is this? Haven't seen any app do this on all my Samsung devices except for abandoned ones that were abandoned before Android itself underwent a UI change.

Any application that was created before Android 7 came out will not have room for the bottom menu buttons, as well as any application not developed for the HD or large screens. This means any application written for Android 4 or greater.

What that means is most of your favourite applications you've had since you got your first tablet are now useless, because developers won't bother to fix the apps to make up for Google's idea of "Progress."
