Ok, so originally I was going to wait for either the Charge to officially release, or the re-designed Bionic. I'm getting really impatient unfortunately, and I was hoping you guys could help me decide.

I have a Storm 2 right now. The reason I want to upgrade is because I've had this phone for over a year, and I'm extremely sick of it. The reason I was waiting for the aforementioned phones is because I feel that 3G is slow, and I'm not impressed, so I want to experience LTE. Do you think maybe I'm not giving 3G a chance simply because the Storm 2 has been a bad representative of speeds?

I was going to go for the first Incredible a while back, and the 2nd one looks plain awesome, but I'm somewhat "scared" of missing out on getting an LTE capable phone right now. The downside of the Charge is that I'm not too excited about its form factor, although the screen is nice. HTC Thunderbolt no, because I want decent/great battery life.

Help please! I don't really browse the internet that often, but I'm just not sure what my course of action should be or how I should approach it.

Thanks!

Using the TB on 3G will give better battery life, but any LTE phone is going to be bad battery life.
If you use an extended battery it will be better. You have to decide what you want. I don't think the Charge will be any better with battery life. I would wait and see what happens when it is released. Play with the phones and take your time deciding. Check out reviews on Cnet and also on Verizon's site....
I made the jump to Android from BB and am glad I did. I have the original Incredible and I love this phone. I don't have the rush to upgrade as I don't have issues with the 3G network and my Incredible. The original was a top seller and also highly rated on Cnet........I love it. If you can get it from a retailer I suggest it. No one can go wrong with it. I don't need global. I don't like how HTC downgraded the style from the original. I like the build quality better on the original. I have friends who feel the same way. BUT it is a personal preference. You will find the touch screen is much more responsive and you will love it.

is 4g even in your area yet?

everyone wants 4g but take a look a sprint with the huge head start they have in their 4g network and they still dont have coverage most places. if your fortunate to have 4g in your area with vzw then yea i might consider holding out for the charge (im not a fan of the bolt.) however if you do not live in a major metro area and do not have coverage yet then i would put far less weight into LTE as if you dont have it and dont live in a major city it could be up to 2 years before you see it anyways. by then there will be far better devices out and available.

i personally am not a huge HTC fan so i would hold out for the charge as i like the device better. but the bionic has the plus of being dual core although with the exception of gaming it seems that the gains have not proven that large in regular use for most users. i cant see a difference in regular tasks between my nexus and atrix.

So if you like htc and dont have 4g i would go for the incredible 2 if you like it.

Hmmm, thanks for the replies so far. I currently do not have LTE coverage in Tucson, AZ, however, I do at my home in Phoenix (I go to college in Tucson). Supposedly LTE is supposed to arrive in Tucson by summer, if not the end of the year at the latest.

Still trying to decide...

I will tell you, that from my experience, 3G on the Storm is the same speed as the DInc2 when it comes to downloading, so I don't think you will see a difference there....the DInc does render much faster and is so much nicer than the S2, I am very happy with my transition over with almost every aspect being that much better than the BB.....I still miss my BBM though, so I am waiting anxiously for them to finish porting that over :)

If you're a college student, you probably don't sit around much, unless you actually study a lot - for that . . . congratulations! (I studied my arse off.) So, battery life is probably important.

You don't have LTE at school, but you do have LTE at home. Do you spend most of the year at school or at home?

I have the Inc. A family member of mine has the Inc2 - love it compared to my Inc. BUT, you obviously are curious about LTE. I think you have to decide which is most important to you - LTE or battery life?

The Inc2 will do everything the Thunderbolt will do, except LTE.

(I deliberately ignored the Charge. I heavily prefer HTC Android phones.)

The other option is if you are considering LTE wait until it hits Tucson and see what phones are available then.

I moved from the Storm2 to Inc2 this week. I am very happy. I wanted 4G but it is just not prevalent yet. I feel like 3G on a phone is good right now but for tethering it is not good enough. I went for the smaller Inc2 form factor and battery life. I don't regret it. Plus I have WiFi connections at work and home, where I do most of my browsing and downloading. Good luck!

Get the Charge if you do not mind Touch whiz. 4G is really all that and the Charge has great battery life and gorgeous screen. I myself purchased the DInc 2 because I live in Richmond VA and so I have nothing but time to see what 4G phone I want. I am looking at the Bionic as my 1st choice but will have to see what they do with that phone.

The other option is for you to buy a used phone off craigslist. You could probably find a good Incredible for below 150 dollars.
