Need some convicting of keeping my Note8

Same here. I was also a long time user of the iphones and came back to android again for another shot. And the note 8 has impressed me enough to keep it passed my return period. I have an iPad pro too but it's been sitting since I got this. Just give yourself time, play with different things, search YouTube for videos on how to do note 8 tricks. All helps. :)

There are people on these forums who are using both an Iphone and a note 8. It seems to work well for them. Using the iPhone to keep your company running smoothly while finding ways to integrate the note into the equation so that can take over when the time comes. If that's not really an option, then I'd have to side with the other posters who mentioned moving back to Apple. Lay out a few workable options, and then decide which one would be least stressful. I hope that you are able to find an option that keeps you smiling with minimal stress.

I think once you get your services converted over to Google you'll be all set. And at least if you decide to try Apple again the Google services are compatible with iOS devices that you won't have to switch back.
I'm a dual user but always had everything setup in the Google ecosystem.

What is that? I was told there is a app to put all my stuff from my iPhone on the Note8.
You need SmartSwitch. Basically that will copy over all your iPhone's stuff except apps into the Note 8. The SmartSwitch for Macs can restore an iTunes backup to a Samsung phone so that works too.

I don't know if there is Sidesync for iPad, but there is one for Macs so you can text from your Mac as long as it and the phone are on the same network.

Great advices there.

Switchings platforms will always be a challenge but if you're willing to spend quite a bit of time, it can be done.

So I tried syncing my photos via google photos and it missed a lot of them and didn’t include any of my videos. Does anyone have any tips for me please?
Thank you.

Hello everyone I am new to this forum I found it by googling Note8 Forum.
Anyways I am in a dilemma I currently have a iPhone 7 Plus and had originally purchased the iPhone 8 Plus but when I got it I wasn't impressed by any means so I returned it.
I started to get curious about the Note8 so I ordered one online from Verizon.
I got it today and wow I have been so overwhelmed everything is so different I am very used to my iPhone I knew it was going to be different but I am so confused what to do.
I have been trying to train Bixby on it and it isn't working right maybe it's user error lol?
I also run a business and have two iCloud e-mails and it wouldn't let me add either of my accounts to my new Note8.
I was so overhwlmed I put the Note 8 down and questioned why I got a Samsung lol..
I also like the seamless syncing between my iPad Mini, MacBook and my iPhone is there anything Samsung offers for a tablet that would sync a picture or text message pretty much instantly?
Please help lol any previous hardcore apple fans here that switched to Samsung and don't regret it?
Thanks for any input:confused:

I will tell you what I told my roommate. You are in the Apple ecosystem, it will take a while to get used to Android. I know new is exciting, but considering all that you have said, if it were me, I would stay with Apple.
Not for nothing, my roommate LOVES the new OS.

just connect both phones (Note 8 and your iPhone) with the cables that came with the note, open preloaded Smart Switch app on your note 8, and follow the instructions. if unsure, just Google the process and follow

Smart switch transferred 100% of my photos from my iPhone to my note8. Go samsung.

Because you are quite submerged into Apples eco system and so on, I would forget about Bixby and so on until you have the more important day2day stuff like mail/messages etc... sorted and don't stress about it.
Even people coming from other older android devices like myself (note 4 ) are experiencing a learning curve

I wasn't aware of Smart Switch. I'll have to try that out. Anyone know if it will work from an iTunes iPhone backup? They replaced my iPhone on the same day I got the Note 8, and I didn't try to reload it.

I believe the answer is no... a phone to phone transfer. Just restore the iPhone using a cloud backup then connect.

I've read that it will work on macs. Just download the smart switch software to your computer and take it from there. No need for you to connect the devices to each other.

I'll be bluntly honest with you: since you already use Macs, and iPads and iCloud and are pretty much trapped in the Apple ecosystem, return the Note 8. The iPhone is the device for you.

Android is, by far, the best operating system BUT it takes quite a lot of effort to transition out of the Apple walled garden ecosystem to it. If you weren't so invested in Apple's ecosystem, but you are and honestly, it will be a ton of work for not that much pay off to you.

Android is best suited for the vast majority of consumers who use Windows computers and tablets. Nothing you will do with the Note 8 will ever come close to the seamless integration you get between an iPhone and your other iDevices.

I am an iPhone user from way back, but strongly prefer Android now. However you are really invested in the Apple ecosystem. I was not and found transition pretty easy. In your case, I would probably stick with the iPhone.

I suggest give it until your return is almost up and see if you can get used to it. I use apple and android. Google photos works great for both platforms. iMessage is much better than what android offers, got to give them that.

I use both an iphone and a note 8. I did not start using apple products until about 3 years ago so it was not a huge deal to go back to using android (except for how much better everything has become). There are some challenges like notes and imessage syncing -but I have found there is usually some equivalent app and so I use both. I have an iphone 6splus and the note 8 and I much prefer the note 8. I use google voice which works on both platforms for some things. Right now I have my note 8 on mint sim and carry it around - and use apple watch 3 cellular to get imessages when I don't want to carry two phones (I need two separate phones for work/personal and it has to be 2 separate devices)

I tried the Note 8 and it was probably the nicest phone I’ve ever owned. However, I’m so bought in to Apple that it makes it very difficult to switch out. I ended up selling mine and going back to what I know. Good luck with your decision.
