Looks like they have an apk file over at XDA that has device check disabled. This means it will pretty much work with any build. I ran it on my X running stock Froyo. Streamed perfectly. Here's the link:

Don't use your phone. Download it onto your PC & transfer it to your phone using the USB cable. I can never get downloads to work from XDA using the stock browser.

This app works. I streamed a movie on 3G last night on my DX.

I can vouch that this works on my DX w/ stock 2.2.1. I streamed a movie over 3G last night & it worked just fine.

I can't get the excluded phones app to install... Keeps saying "Application Not Installed" after briefly saying installing. Anyone know of a work around for this?

No way to do it on stock X. Must be rooted and be running the leaked GB.

Not true. If you guys had read this whole thread you would have seen that I posted a link to XDA with a file that will install Netflix on pretty much any device. I installed it and streamed Netflix on my stock froyo DX. Others in this thread have posted that it worked on their phones with stock Froyo as well.

Do you have Unknown sources enabled in the settings?

Did you uninstall the original app first?

Running it now on rooted DX.
Email trick didn't work for me. Went direct download from site using skyfire.
Watching as I write this.

All I have been getting is a black screen....

Tried two different apk's....working with GB .588
