Netflix works on X

Add me to this list. Uninstalled previous version of Netflix. Reinstalled newer device detection disabled one with same results.

Non rooted GB .588 also.

Originally I had read that .588 was a hit or miss (mostly miss) but then PMCode wrote:

Hate to tell you, but that's not true....

4.5.588, rooted leak

installed Netflix APK, logged in, could choose anything, but it never seemed to want to fully load, just a "black screen", so then I did the following:

installed JRummy's Root Tools, edited build.prop replacing ro.product.model=DROIDX to HTC Vision
and ro.product.manufacturer=motorola to HTC then rebooted. Netflix loads, I can choose and watch anything. I also made sure to update flash to 10.3.

I take no credit for this, as I saw this on numerous other sites, about editing build.prop, and changing the two keys to different settings. It just happens the HTC one worked for me.

Hope that helps....

So it looks like more and more users are having issues if they are on .588

Is anyone else here able to get Netflix to work on .588?

Netflix is working great on my stock DX. I downloaded the .apx file at work and sent it to myself via gmail. When I got home I connected to my WiFi and was able to click "install" from the e-mail... Took about 5 minutes... I was able to watch a movie over the WiFi easily.... Haven't tried it over the 3G signal yet...

.588 not working for me either, main program loads, let's me select a movie but all I get is a black screen.

Just downloaded the xda( unchecked ) APK to my Evo, emailed it to my sister's bone stock (froyo) Dx, logged in and BAM! watch south park!
THANKS XDA! & AC for always producing good info!

I have confirmed that the apk with the device check disabled allows me to watch Netflix on my Froyo DroidX without changing any prop.build info. (i am rooted, but do not think this has anything to do with it)

I've tried loading the apk on my XOOM wifi but when the movie is launching, I get an error that it wasn't able to connect to the Netflix service (though I was able to log in and see my most recently watched items).

Looks like they have an apk file over at XDA that has device check disabled. This means it will pretty much work with any build. I ran it on my X running stock Froyo. Streamed perfectly. Here's the link:
