New App for Facebook Hi-Res Photo syncing - "Haxsync"

Profile Photos not refreshing are a symptom of friends with restricted privacy settings - if HaxSync can't access their galleries, it can't read out the photos timestamp and doesn't know when to replace the photo.

Would it be possible to add an option to manually update a contact's picture to get around this?

+1.. I don't think it's necessarily a Profile Picture gallery permissions issue, because I'm seeing it across the board even with friends whose album I can view on facebook. The status updates do come through fine, but pictures don't get updated at all after the initial sync.

Perhaps an option for a daily force sync, or something? Or if you want to turn on some serious logging, I'd be willing to share logs if that would help figure out the issue.

Giving you access to galleries and giving 3rd-party-apps you use (such as HaxSync) access to galleries are two completely separate permissions. A way to force updating pictures may be possible, I'll look into it.

Sweet, thanks! As a fellow developer, just a question.. do you know if the built-in Facebook app's syncing (or HTC Sense's implementation) use a different API or so to fetch the photos? Just wondering since I didn't have any issues when using those methods on my old Gingerbread phone.

I am pretty sure that Facebook has some restricted API methods only available to them (or huge companies with large purses. )

i've synced it all accordingly and my contacts are synced together but there is NO Facebook status at all... how can this be fixed?!

Is90: Are you using the old or the new API? The new API doesn't show status updates in the contact list, only in the contact detail view. This is the reason I left the option to use the new API, if that disadvantage outweighs all the advantages you get from the new API for you.

Anyone else having difficulties with Events syncing to Calendar? Mine were not displaying, so last night I removed and re-added my HaxSync account on my phone. This worked initially, and I was seeing my events and birthdays in both the Calendar app and in my Calendar widget.

However, I was checking things this afternoon and the events were gone. I went back into HaxSync and did an on-demand sync, and Calendar finished almost immediately, but the events and birthdays are still gone.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having the same issue with no events or birthdays displaying. I actually came here hoping for a fix.

problem if you can help.. i thought this syncs all of your facebook friends but it doesn't. It syncs all the contacts i have from vz backup's pictures and everything from facebook but im still missing 100+ people not synced at all that are just on fb.. not backed up... pls help?

This app is awesome it does everything it claims to do and works well. One thing that would be a great addition would be the ability to manually match contacts with different names. this post claims that you can however i can find nowhere to do it. only option is to enable strong fuzziness. This makes more of a mess than fixing the problem the best solution would be allowing the user to manually match them.

It was mentioned on the second page. You do it in your People app. Edit the contact, press menu/join and search for the haxsync contact to join it.

i have one request

Is it possible everytime we make a JOIN contact , hacsync writes a number in the notes field of the person we join so the next time(reset settings/phone) the sync will make autojoin of the manual combine we made before.
Its something like reading the htc notes that connect the contacts with the facebook contact.

Every time i flash a rom i have to manualy combine all my friends because greek is not supported

Hi, first post here. First of all, congratulations for the app, works great!

There is only one problem, which I have already commented at Google Play: without an active data coonection (3G or wifi), Haxsync crashes whenever I open a contact in the People app. The workaround is to de-select the "Sync Status Update" option. Not ideal but works...

Any update in the pipeline?

Hello, I got tires of using facebook sync and wanted high res pictures to sync to my phone.
I have a Samsung galaxy S2 and i can't get Haxsync to work.
it syncs like 10 contacts and connect google and haxsync. the rest of the contact won't sync, changed the setting to strong fuzzines and that didn't work. Even tried to the "additional friends to sync" but it didn't work.

I have android 4.0.3 and the "new api option" is activated.
