New color for GSIII- Garnet Red!!

I kind of like the red, but I still like my pebble blue one better. That said, I'd jump all over the red one if it came in 32 GB (storage is more important to me than color).

i think it looks pretty cool but doesnt mean that I would get it.... im loving my blue one too much....

It looks like the same red color that was on the Blackberry Curve back in the day. My wife and I both had them. I actually liked the red.

I have a white SGIII but am teetering on the idea of trading it in for the red when released.

I do have a somewhat clear Belkin case on it and it gives the back a slight frosted look. The red would show through nicely.

So my mind still is not made up....white....red....white....red....grrrr....

Ironically, for a company headquartered in Korea, they sure have a nice knack for patriotic American phone colors! Garnet Red, Pearl White, Pebble Blue! I salute you, Samsung! B-)

Once you get a case on the GS3, how much of a difference does it make? I got the Pebble Blue because, IMHO only, it is effeminate in the white version. The garnet red might look good with another case but not very professional.

I guess it depends on the case you get. I have the Insipio two-tone white and gray. Goes well with the Pebble Blue phone I have.

Since Amazon sells the GS3 for upgrade customers like myself for $149, that's a $50 discount from ATT. On top of that Amazon does not charge CA sales tax which amounts to another $50+ discount, nor do they charge restocking if you decide against it in the 30 day trial period. So there's total savings of $100. Of course if you're a new ATT customer you'll pay $189 instead and if you cancel the contract after the 30 days you'll get slapped with an ETF from both Amazon and ATT, so make sure you're going to stay with ATT.

Am going to assume Amazon will have the garnet red color once ATT has them and it will be sold for $149 also.

The garnet or red may be exclusive to AT&T meaning only in stores or their online process.

I think exclusive to ATT means while all 3 carriers have the S3, only ATT will have it in red. So as long as you are an ATT customer, point of sale will not play into the equation. ATT certified retailers may have limited quantities, but I would think any outfit approved/certified by ATT to sell their products will be able to sell all their products.

I sent my white one back to AT&T and want to get the red. However, I'm not sure I'm going to pre-order because I want to be sure it doesn't have the same brushed-metal look as the blue. I just want it to be a glossy red. If its the brushed metal look, I may just go back to the white.
