Recently got a new EVO design,and coming from a blackberry its great. But it seems to have poor email performance compared to my blackberry. How can I set it up so I receive emails as soon as I get them? I've looked in settings and see an option for 5 minutes, but I need it like my blackberry was. Thanks

Open the mail program.

Menu --> More --> Settings --> Send & Receive --> Update Schedule.

Under peak times and off peak times, there is an option "Push Mail". That is your "instant" update. If you have notifications turned on, Menu --> More --> Settings --> Notification settings, it will likely get annoying real quick.

Hopefully what you mean by "poor email performance" is just an update frequency issue. I am quite satisfied with the performance of the mail program on my EVO OG. So much so that I have taken trips where I leave my laptop at home/in the hotel.

The only push option is for gmail, i cant find the push option for the Email app. And the blackberry keyboard is the thing i miss the most about my Bold 9930. Oh, and one more thing: what's up with the design of the Android phones? They are ALL the same... You can see an iPhone or a Blackberry and know what that phone is but Android phones not so much...LG, HTC, Motorola (except Razor), Samsung, they are all a blur...

Gmail and Microsoft Exchange email will both push on any Android. I have both and no issues, but Yahoo email is terrible in my experience on any OS - all the way back to Palm, WinMo, Android. You can get the Yahoo app for Android, but that is the only push email complaint I would have with Android. All OSs do a decent job now with email push, so the old visa towards Blackberry being the email king isn't that big of a deal now. Obviously, millions of people run business and personal email on all modern OSs.

The key with Android really is the ability to customize your phone, much more so than just the wallpaper on iPhone or Blackberry. I have had both and that is the thing I like most about Android.

The Design is a great phone all around, I think. Especially if intl service is needed on occasion.

MS Exchange works at times on my Evo Design. The last time it failed I had to set up my email through POP which does not support push email. Blackberry is still the boss when it comes to email, i never had any problems setting up or using any type of email account. Oh, well, you win some, you lose some. Just wish the MS Exchange would work on my Evo Design:(
