New Firmware Pushed This Morning

Downloaded update and now my weather is actually showing the correct location without me having to refresh it.

And let the random reboots begin. Applied to stock unrooted this morning and it rebooted just now while sitting idle. Haven't had a single random reboot since I got it. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come. I haven't tested out GPS or camcorder audio yet.

I got it early this morning at work, even before the news that was posted in Android Central. :) Could not pass the info because I was really busy by them. :)

So, I'm trying to pull the update on 3g signal and mid download the signal changes to 4g. The download completely froze on me. I tried reseting, and when I try to pull the update my TB tells me the service is unavailable. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

That didn't do anything for me so I'll just wait for the update to show up for me later on. However, there is nothing risky about doing the method you mentioned as LTE onOff is nothing more than a shortcut to the Thunderbolts hidden menu.

Didn't work for me either.

Anyone notice the random loss of data still? My TB showed full bars of 4G, but the internet wouldnt move at all...then it would drop data all together showing just bars, no 1x or nothing...Im not sure if its my area or not Im in the Northern NJ/NYC area...if anyone has any input on this I'd appreciate it....data was never really good to begin with before the update so for me apparently the OTA didnt fix it..

GPS is still garbage. Just randomly decides whether to take 3 seconds or a minute. Still have to use GPStatus which isn't the end of the world but wish they'd quit proclaiming they patched anything when it's clear some people still have issues.

Hmm...so look like this OTA update DID NOT fix the MAJOR ISSUES:

- Battery drainage
- GPS lock
- "Android System" process causing CPU to go 60-70% most of the time, causing system lagginess

I was able to get the update to start downloading after switching to 1x. Unfortunately as I watched the progress bar, I started having flashbacks of using a 14.4 Kbps modem to connect to BBS servers in the early 90s and had to stop it.

I'll get this update once VZW figures their crap out. :):):)

1x is probably close to 10x faster than a 14.4kbps modem.

although i first stated 1x worked for me, i didn't download it because it was so slow. i also stated previously to use 3g via rev a (must set it in the ##778# menu) and that worked the best for me.

Right on - now I understand. I used the ##778# menu to turn on Rev a and then used LTE on/off to turn on 3G. Now downloading MUCH faster. Thanks for the info! :D

I manually checked for the update and installed while I was at work this afternoon. Phone works fine so far.

not the best solution, but you can try the "restart connections" app or use the mobile data on/off widget and just toggle the data off and on again.

Thank you! Worked like a charm on the first try using your instructions.

You're worried about that? Hottest my phone got was 129.7*F.

For those who can't download, you can try to put it in 3g rev a
