New G Nexus owners....Happy?

Happy?

Now that I have seen pics of the new Galaxy SIII, I am very happy that I did not wait for it to come out.
Not a very attractive phone IMHO.

Mav.

When it was time for a new phone for me, it was the G-Nex or the EVO LTE. I chose the Galaxy Nexus because of all the customs stuff for the EVO, didn't want to wait any longer lol.

I love my Nexus though :) Probably best decision on a phone I've made in a while.

I'm overjoyed with the device. ICS just rocks right along. Multitasking is awesome. Only time I rebooted in over a month's ownership was by choice, not because I was forced to ala Sense. Moreover, the build is much better than what I expected based on all the fear mongering of Samsung builds worked up on the internets.

The only disappointment is reverting to Sprint's 3G, which leaves much to be desired. -_- I was spoiled with WiMax and can't wait for LTE.

Pure Android or bust.

I love pure ics also and as soon as lte becomes available I'm getting a galaxy Nexus can't wait till unlimited lte speeds sprint ftr

Yeah I never understood this. People always bash samsung for bad build quality but of the 3 samsung phones I have owned they all felt sturdy and just a nice as a metal based phone. Both my moment, epic and gnexus felt like professional phones and quality.

As for sprints 3g performance I was sad there for a few days switching to the gnexus until one day the speeds were back to normal. Now though I get 1.3Mbps with an average signal over 3g which aint bad, plus I spent alot of my time on wifi to save battery life as its no longer the drain that it used to be.

So I've had my Nexus since a few days after it was released. Love the phone, it's really everything I had hoped my Epic 4G was going to be out the box. With my Epic I had to root and mod to make it a really good phone (my opinion of course) and before it got crazy on me it was rocking Cyanogenmod 9 and it ran ICS amazingly well (really a shame it will never get ICS to stock users). With my Nexus it does everything I want and seems to do it well enough I could care less to root it.

I had wanted a Nexus phone not long after learning more about Android. It's not that Touchwiz or Sense or... is so horrible cause they really add some good stuff. I just don't think at expense of waiting 1/4 - 1/2 of your contract for a software update. Look at so many amazing phones that sold like hotcakes still on Gingerbread. I prefer to buy the apps I want. 1 example is Sense has great widgets but you know what so does Android Pro Widgets. I'd rather let an application designer work on their apps than my phone not being updated to a new version of the OS because my fancy clock doesn't play nice.

I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time with the new Evo LTE a few days ago. It's a great phone and it was what I really thought I was going to get. After using it I'm very happy with my Nexus. I just simply prefer this version of ICS. I don't like sense compared to this at all but that's just me. The Evo is an amazing phone though and had I gone that route I'd be putting CM9 on it most likely. This phone (Nexus) I don't have to play that game anymore. Anyone thinking about the Evo should definitely give it a look.

When announced I wanted the Galaxy Nexus but then it just never came to Sprint. By the time it did the Evo had been announced and the hardware is just better so that's what I decided to get since we got these phones for 2 years. My old phone just started not working right at all and I got sick of waiting, low and behold the Nexus had just been released so I jumped in. The more I thought about it the more I came to the conclusion it really is the right phone for me. A big part of that decision was my first Samsung experience, I wanted no part of their delays again. Also perhaps the biggest thing I learned from my first go around is to never buy a phone on an old OS, you'll just be pissed that 6 months plus you are still waiting for that promise of a few weeks it will be updated.

My only concern with the Nexus is perhaps the attention Sprint will give it. I mean the Evo LTE and the Galaxy S3 will no doubt sell many more units. I just hope they keep this thing updated on Google's path.

Based on my experience with this phone I can't wait for the next Nexus and the possibility of multiple choices if that ends up being true.

I'm still leaning towards upgrading my OG EVO 4G to a GNex, but the signal thing has me worried. I know when I'm home from school it doesn't matter. Home is cell phone purgatory, it doesn't matter your phone or carrier, there just ain't no signal. But having less signal in an area I already have decent signal, that's troubling.

The guy at the Sprint store said that the GNex has been returned a lot, even by employees and recommended the EVO 4G LTE. Form wise, I like the new EVO, but I don't like Sense that much anymore. However, I do really like the look and feel of stock ICS on the GNex. My stubborn side says, screw it, get the GNex and just keep getting it replaced if it needs it. The practical more mature side says that that process would be annoying and almost more trouble than it's worth at times. The other option is to upgrade to the GNex, try it for the 2 week period and make my mind up then on whether or not to keep it or get the EVO.

I'm kinda lost here, any help/opinions/guidance/libel/slander/general ribbing? Thanks ahead of time.

Be practical.

the NS4G was my first nexus device and now have the GNEX..very pleased. I think I'm going to just plain stick with the nexus line. Only thing I can't stand is the display when outside, have to set it on bright because can't see a freaking thing and then it's a total battery vampire. I'm not sure if that's due to my otterbox or not tho; had it on before I left the store.

I got the Nexus last weekend and so far so good. The only thing is it gets hot pretty quick. I'm use it I guess....same thing happened with my EVO. I agree, I'm sticking with the Nexus line.
