When I got the phone I was kind of in a hurry and when I was making my google account I was having I difficult time finding a user name that wasn't taken.

Well I created a new google account and imported all of my contacts and calender entries into that new account. Now I have a couple of questions before signing my phone onto the new account.

I assume since my apps are installed on the phone they will still be there. But what if I have to hard reset my phone, will I have to repay for my purchased apps? Also what about the all of my accounts that I have tied to my google account?

Purchased apps will be linked to the account in which you purchased them from. I don't think that can be transfered in any way.

Try AppBrain. This is an app that you can set up with multiple devices. I had it set up with my EVO and EPIC. It allows you to view them from a computer as well as the device.
Check out AppBrain and this might be a good solution for you.
If you paid for an app it will not transffer that i am aware of. You might be able to contact google and see if their Market Support can move the paid apps too the new address. Unpaid apps will still be there if you log out and log in with the new one. It might take a minute but they should show up.

Anytime you hard reset, only paid apps associated with an account show back up.
Thats why i like appbrain. It will remember what WAS installed after a hard reset. Market only shows what is currently installed.
