WOW talk about taking several steps backwards. I find it very laggy and also it seemed to strip lots of functions and info that is important. :-\

I liked being able to sign in and see reviews based on device types. I do not see that anymore. Also the UI is hideous and I just find it dumbed down.

This is my opinion after using my PC to find a few apps and check an update change log on one app that just updated on my N7.

What are your thoughts?

I do agree that it looks dumbed down. I'm using version 4.1.6 on a rooted Kyocera Rise (Virgin Mobile USA), running I.C.S. 4.0.3. I can still view reviews for other devices... there are usually more of them than ones for my phone! When I do see reviews for the Rise, they're always marked as "for an older version".

Sorry I should of been more clear of which version...I am talking about the Google Play Store you see when you access it from a computer browser.

Google just applied this new website version yesterday or today.

Ok... just tried this on my xubuntu Linux laptop, using Firefox. Didn't find any issues with it, and I can see reviews from devices other than my Rise. I actually kind of like the scrolling review board. Hmm, maybe it's better to me, but I'll have to use it some more.

Ok, besides a few things I will probably just learn to deal with, the biggest thing for me that is a problem is being able to use the app reviews.

I normally judge certian apps I may want to try by reading reviews that are aimed at the N7 device and also can be sorted by date as newest. This was extremely helpful in determining if there were any problems with specific Jelly Bean versions and devices with the app. I can not see any way to select reviews by date or device when I am signed in.

For example on one page of an app review area:

Here is the review area in the middle of the app description page. I see no toggles for any sorting of reviews here.

After clicking on the arrow from the previous page to open up the list of reviews, I still see no sorting options. The reviews are also just randomly listed as far as the date goes as well.

Am I missing something here? I am using a WinXP PC with FF browser.

I like that I can now access my wishlist. However not being able to filter reviews by device is a big problem. Hope they fix it...

Before this update, at the top of the apps page, I could select my Droid X or my Nexus 7 & see the apps installed on each. That appears to be gone now.

Not being able to filter or even sort reviews is a huge step backwards. I was completely disappointed encountering that.

They also no longer indicate which version of the app the review is referring to. Sometimes that makes a HUGE difference. I don't understand how they missed these things. But you can still see this info from an android device correct? (too lazy to go pick up my nexus)

It also doesn't indicate which device. Sometimes all the problems reported about an update are for a different device.

I agree. I am on a PC right now, not a phone/tablet. Didn't Google learn anything from the Windows 8 debacle?

Not only that, but now ALL the apps you've ever installed are lumped in with the current ones. I used the web interface quite often to "tidy" up my apps on my various devices, and that can no longer be done. The Play store (my apps) on the web is useless to me now. I hate it. I'm afraid to even look at the music part.
