So then you need a WiFi option... people have been using FoxFi, but I don't have personal experience with it as I just tether on Verizon if I need to.

I don't think it's a guaranteed solution, but that's the only one I can think of to try for a non-root, non-tethering-plan option.

Out of the box, you'll only be able to access a settings shortcut by going to the Quick Toggles screen. You can't replace that "Quick Toggles Shortcut" button with a direct-to-Settings shortcut.

It's marginally faster to just have a Settings shortcut on the home screen. Otherwise, you could do a two finger pull-down then tap on the Settings button o_O

I use foxfi on att. Works for me.

Not really when there are still inconsistencies and you have to make many more steps in IOS.
Build quality is the only thing that apple has going for them.
The software is just a copy of everyone else's ideas with apple's locked down spin on it.
Where iOS 7 Features Come From! - YouTube
apple never could think for themselves! They just copy and they are proud of it !
"Good artists copy great artists steal"
Steve Jobs: Good artists copy great artists steal - YouTube

This is why I don't have any kind of respect for apple whatsoever !

You probably read a lot, and have never used iOS.
Apple copies? Ever heard of Samesung? Lol!

iOS does remind me a lot of the classic Palm OS, with all the round corners and gridded app lists. I really don't see any innovation in that.

No
I usually have all my news pushed to my Email or Facebook.

I used to work for a company that repairs apple devices and this is how I know so much about IOS
Yes I know how to use IOS . I do know how to repair hardware/software.

Samsung does copy to a degree but the do not have the same snobbish following as apple does.
Samsung doesn't patent troll. Samsung is also one of the first companies to innovate.
Samsung makes the retina screens and processors for apple.
Without Samsung apple would be nothing and yet apple bites the hand that feeds!

Copying Apple contributed heavily to making them big in the smartphone business.

Samsung doesn't patent troll.

Maybe because they don't have many good patents. :)

Samsung is also one of the first companies to innovate.

Innovate what?

Samsung makes the retina screens and processors for apple.

You do know that Apple designs these, right?

Without Samsung apple would be nothing and yet apple bites the hand that feeds!

You can't be serious with that statement. Lol!

Without Samsung The iPhone would still have a 4inch screen.
As soon as the Galaxy Note line became popular what did apple do ? GOT BIGGER
apple follows Samsung around like a puppy dog to his master.
First thing you know apple will have a smartwatch or smart glasses!

Innovate what ? Did you hear of the curved screen ? All Samsung!
Among many other things! All apple does is make computers/mobile devices.
Android is on the satellites that orbit this earth! Does apple do that?
Hell no! Why? Because it's to hard to work with!

Apple may design the screens and processors but Samsung makes them!
Who else would they get that's better to make them ?

I'll go straight to the source without some locked up OS!

I miss the quick toggles from Touch Wiz, but what I've done on my Nexus is I added a Settings shortcut to one of my home screens, as someone mentioned. I also added a Toggles widget (which is already included) to my home screen which controls your WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sync and Brightness settings, essentially like touch wiz, just not on your notification menu.

And a curved screen serves what purpose? Innovation involves something useful, not a gimmick.
BTW, LG has a curved screen, also.

it is gimmick for now, I think they are just testing the water, I do believe the fold-able display is down the road.

Then you need to sit here all day.
You do realize that Foxconn builds smartphones for ALL of the companies, and that Apple is the ONLY company to try to do anything about working conditions. They have an agreement with Foxconn about hours and working conditions, and Foxconn is not honoring the agreement. Therefore, Apple is stepping in.

The government has found that Apple has not violated any tax laws.

Back to the drawing board for you!

Back to tips for new Android user:
The Google app has amazing voice capabilities.
Just say "OK Google" ('OK Geek" also works)(must be on any home screen)(or tap the microphone icon) and you can do a bunch of things:

"How do I cure a slice" takes you to web pages.
"Call Sally Schmedlap on Moblie" (work...home etc) will call anyone in you contacts list.
"Dial...867-5309 will dial that number...in this case Jenny.
"Text Sally.. Are you home yet" will draft a text that you can review and send.
"Make Apointment...Saturday 8:00 a.m.... golf with Joe" Will put it on your calendar.
"Open (any app name)" will open the app for you.
"Find (or nearest) Italian Restaurants" will give you a list of such restaurants within 20 miles of your location.
Ask a question..My favorite so far is "When am I?"
"Directions to...Village Inn Pizza" will allow you to get voice turn by turn or written directions. If you have multiple apps, it will ask which to use (always or just once. Choosing Chrome will get you written instructions. Google maps works great, as does Scout)

Any others? Feel free to add to the list.
