Hope that's not it. Essentially the same design as the M7 and M8 with minimal design changes. The other renders had me excited. This does not.

Given HTC"s intentional efforts to mislead and fake people out, I'd say it's reasonably likely it's fake. Problem is, it's just as likely that it isn't. If it looks like that, I'll be going GS6 though...

I hate to say it but I agree with you that if the M9 looks like this and the S6 looks like it's renders I will likely go with the S6. I really liked my M8 but the almost inch of bezel and on screen buttons made me sell it. I didn't like all of the screen space I lost for my widgets, especially calendar and email widgets.

With most of you here, if that's what they come out with they're doomed. I'll be GS6 or G4 for sure if it looks anything like the M7/8.

If this is what the new M9 looks like I will keep my M7. My M7 is a great phone and I don't see a need to renew a 2 year contract and pay for a "new" phone that looks like my old one. I hope these pictures are fake.

According to @evleaks they are fake. Pulled from a german shopping site that was just using it for a placeholder. Annoys me that phonearena calls the pics "official" when they clearly are not. Clickbait. That's why I don't put much stock in any rumor unless it appears on android central. Android central seems to really vet the rumors where as other sites just post anything in order to get clicks.

Evleaks came out saying those leaks are fake and I hope they are. It looks way too similar to the One M8. Hope the phone looks similar to evleaks render a while back.

the rumored price point is $750 off contract. id assume the s6 would be even more than that. i wish these oems would lower the prices for people who cannot finance or do not have a upgrade like myself. ive pretty much decided to wait for the g4 and one+2. they will both be priced much lower. my new g3 will hold me over till then. maybe by summer a cheaper m9 will hit craigslist.

personally i think the new renders will be spot on. htc doesn't need to redesign the phone every year. good thing is 2015 will bring alot of other phones. g4, one+2, s6. take your pick if the m9 doesn't interest you. myself i wont spend over $450-500 on a phone full price.

It's not a matter of whether one is a radical design change or not. It's a matter of preferring the rumoured S6 designs over the basic M7/M8 design.

all im saying is id check out the specs and price before making a decision. from what im seeing the s6 will have a pretty small non removable battery. im assuming design wise it wont be much different than the s4 and s5.

You couldn't be more incorrect. HTC isn't Apple. They are still trying to BUILD their brand. They can't rest on laurels they don't have and release the same phone over and over again like Apple. I am a HTC fan but if they try to trot this render out on March 1st I am looking elsewhere. I personally don't think the phone will look like this and will resemble evleaks ones more.

If you are looking to spend 4 bills on a phone you should just wait for the One Plus One 2.

that or the g4, yes i will be waiting. as often as i change devices dishing out $750+ is a waste. we shall see in a week but i think alot of you will be disappointed with the m9 and s6 design, happens every year. 95% of the rumors and leaks are false.

Perfectly stated. If the M9 looks like the M8, you, me, and a whole army of prospective purchasers will be looking elsewhere. It would be corporate suicide, no way it looks like the current M8.
