New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

8 minutes before you 11.38:45... and no news yet... seems to be a real disaster... maybe they should give away 50$ refund to google wallet for such a bad experience..

And I'm 5 minutes after you at 11:43 Eastern time... Nothing yet. No backorder email either! Yet....:(

This has been a helpful thread so I'd thought I'd register and throw my info out there.

Location: SoCal
Ordered: 4 8gb Nexus 4's
Time: 9:03 PST
Got shipping notice @ 1:03 PST

I've read a lot of crazy theories, but if I were in your position I would be doing the same and pretty agitated. Good Luck!
theory's go... I paid with AMEX chargecard. Maybe they kept Amex orders active because Amex worked out a special deal or maybe because I was one of the first to activate a G1 and they're taking care of their orginal customers :p

I've read a lot of theory's but dont think any of them are right, but if I were in your position I would be doing the same and pretty agitated especially since I dumped my SG2 on ebay already. Good Luck!

I just spoke to Google's customer support and they told me if you haven't received the back order email by now, you are on-track :)

I ordered Nexus4 8gb + bumper
Order Date: November 13, 2012 11:41:19 AM UTC-5

Google Play is showing shipping estimate as Nov 15.
I have received neither the back order email nor the shipping mail.

Location: Montreal, Canada

Am I the only one who realized that 3-5 days doesn't mean 3 days? 5 days puts us in the US on Tuesday. Calm down for a few and stop jumping to random conclusions.

AndroidParanoid: We're in the same boat and I'm glad. I have not received shipping info or a backorder email.
Ordered at 8:37 PST.

So I assume we're in the clear. Yessss

I know you work for Google, and defend them, but 3-5 days also doesn't mean 3 weeks. We're just trying to find out what's going on because everyone is getting conflicting reports from Google's customer service.

I'm in the SF Bay area. Ordered two Nexus 4s before 9am Tuesday. Has both listed as will ship Nov 15th. Received an e-mail with "You have a number of open orders, if you didn't meant to place them, cancel in 24 hours, otherwise we will process". Since that point, if I try to buy any apps on the Play Store it immediately cancels the purchase. I called Google Support last night about that e-mail, since I didn't want any hold up, and they said, "Oh, that's normal, you're all ok in our system, should ship tomorrow". When I asked about the app issue, they told me to call the app department.

I did so, spoke to Aaron, who said he didn't see any issue, but repeated my problem to me 3 times, then said he sent me an e-mail with routine steps to take and if that didn't resolve, to reply to the e-mail and he would move me to billing to fix it. I pointed out I hadn't received the e-mail and he said, "Oh that's normal, there's a delay, you'll get it in a few minutes". I never received any e-mail.

As of right now, both my Nexus's are in the exact same state they were in when I ordered them, both estimated Nov 15th, no updates, no tracking numbers, no backorder e-mails. Charges are on my credit card for both, but both charges are "processing".

For some reason that all adds up to feeling like there's something wrong with the order and that my account is on hold or locked, even though the support guy said everything was "green". It would be quite nice to receive it tomorrow like others, but as long as I'm not backordered I'm happy. If I don't see any movement by tonight they are definitely getting another call.

I don't have the same anger as others here oddly. Google is relatively new at selling hardware directly, and they're not really used to people giving a crap. Not that that excuses any of this, but just like with Google's services/hardware, I'm used to them using us early adopters as beta testers for their often revolutionary but.... rough offerings. I'm still supportive of what they're doing by selling things directly at crazy cheap prices and going around the carriers, so I'm willing to cut them a little slack in regards to growing pains and unexpected demand (I'm frankly glad the demand exists).

Never received the notification email. Stayed up until 2 MST woke up at 5 MST figured it would go on sale at 8 PST because it did that somewhere else. Hit F5 four minutes into the sale and got through with no problems. Thought it was the worse thing ever. Ordered the Galaxy a month after it came out. If I don't switch to WP I'll probably wait a month after launch from here on out. This was stupid.

I'm honestly shocked at how bad this launch has gone. It's a logistical nightmare. I thought the Nexus 7 release was bad, but this is much worse.

- Google advertises the phone/tablet will be available for purchase on Nov 13, but don't specify what time/timezone
- Completely unannounced (not even notifying those who wanted an email notification) they release the products on the Play Store at a seemingly random time (11:20am on the East coast of Australia)
- Stock runs out (presumably) in 20 minutes of going live so the purchasing is taken off the Play Store and replaced with a "COMING SOON" sign
- Absolutely no communication from Google regarding why you can't purchase the products, or when they'll be back up
- Some customers who did manage to get an order for the phone are now being sent emails telling them that their phone is now on backorder
- Transport of the phones is sporadic and lacks information (my phone is sitting in Lantau Island, HK, with no expected delivery date), others are expecting their phones today.

I'm just surprised at how bad this launch has been. Doesn't even seem like Google tried to organise it for more than 2 minutes.
