New Note 5 User Questions (email, vibrations & data during calling)

Hi!

Recently got a Note 5 after using the S3 for a few years. I like it a lot. However I have a few quick newbie questions.

1) I'm using the stock email app for now. Trying it really for a few reasons. One annoying thing I've noticed is that emails if I get an email (I have both yahoo and my own IMAP email) the icon in the notification bar doesn't disappear if the email is read on my computer. That notification icon stays there until I open the email app on my phone and it sort of "refreshes" the notification window. In my previous email app, Maildroid Pro, on my S3 this wasn't the case and the emails would update or disappear almost right after they were read on a different device. Any help? Or is the just the "way it goes" with the stock email app?

2) On my S3 I set my texts to vibrate one long vibrate and my emails to do two quick buzzes. How can I set this up on my Note 5? I'm using stock email (for now) and stock messaging.

3) I'm really surprised to see I can't use data while on a call. How was this possible on the S3 but not on a new phone like the Note 5?! Any way around this?

I an help you with number 3 (Assuming you are on verizon) You need to enable Advanced calling. Settings > Advanced Calling > Advanced Calling set to on

For #2, don't see a way to adjust vibration settings on a per app basis in the email or "Sound and notification". LightFlow might be an option to check out. Looks like it can do custom notification and vibration patterns.
