New Note 8 battery dead

Went to pick up my new note 8 and right off the bat, dead upon arrival. I had them sales people scrambling like eggs on a Sunday morning. They tried to tell me they had to send a brand new phone out to be repaired. I said I want a new phone here or direct me to another store, where I can get it. I'll wait.

Never heard of a new phone dead and wouldn't take charge upon arrival.

Cancel my order and I'll order it to come to my house. Either way I'm getting a new phone.

New phone ordered.
Anyone ever hear of this or seen this, or experience this?
 
It's very unusual but not unheard of, it could have looked fine at QC point but been subject to heat/cold or something during transport, at least it didn't happen after 2 days of setup time
 
Not common, but yes that can happen. More than likely the battery itself is fine and there is a loose connection, but either way I agree it's not your problem, that's Sammy's issue to figure out and you should get one that's working.

Don't they just replace the phone?
If it's new, it would just be a swap out right?

Waiting on the New One just to open it up at the store.
I have 3 note 8's never an issue with one of them.

My wife's S8 was like that out of the box. It wouldn't turn on at first. I plugged it in anyways. Then I, did a hard restart. It's worked fine ever since.
