New OTA impact thread - please report in

I'd hate my 3G logo if I could freaking get it. It shows up once, I switch to WiFi and now my radio signal apparently doesn't exist anymore when I turn WiFi off. Tried everything and I get zero signal. No LTE, no 3G, no 1X.

Another fantastic update from the morons at Big Red and HTC.

I think you need to factory reset. Everything is working pretty well on most of the other phones, it seems.

Try rebooting?

So far no reboots. Normally would have at least two by now. New 3g icon and seems to have more bars here at work. No lte in this area yet so not sure if that would be affected. Loving it so far especially after the long wait

Opinions so far sure sound about the same as after the initial leak of MR2 a month ago. Wonder what they changed?

Listening to music I get a text and the music cuts off to play the notification sound when it didn't do that before.

Here goes...

1. 50 minutes to download at 3G, 2 bars. Glad I plugged it in first!
2. 12:31A "IT'S ALIVE!"
3. It all went very smoothly.
4. I agree, the TB screen without the "clouds" looks better.
5. Some weird new clocks, at least I dont recognize them all.
6. I Cant say if it reset my Handcent sounds to phone default because I was already using the defaults. My regular phone sounds however are unaffected.
7. Had to delete the #BAL,#DATA, #MIN, #PMT dupes on the contacts. Cant get rid of the sim card entries though.
8. It does seem that the phone is faster when I go from menu to menu.
9. I found a new widget "TRAFFIC". It asked for widget name and widget destination. Any clues what this is?
10.When your Bolt was "transforming", didnt it look like it was dead?
11. I use Opera browser and with the WIFI it shows the page much faster. With 3G at 2-3 bars it wasnt as fast but def faster than before update.
FYI, If you are still using the stock browser now is the time to change.
12. Battery? Too soon to tell of course.

The true battery test "Benchmark":
A. Regular charge while sleeping
B. Regular days usage, we all know what our phones were doing

13. No 4G here so cant say anything about that. I did default to LTE/CDMA so I turned it to CDMA only since I cant get LTE.
I also see a system select option which is new which allows you to change your roaming mode (Home only and automatic).
14. Will have to wait and see what other goodies are instore as far as resets, etc.
15. GPS found itself faster but half of too long is still too long!
16. I retested the video to make sure the sound was still recording :)
17. Im an hour in and all systems are GO!

Thunderbolt Away! Its a Dream phone cause all we can do is Dream! LOLOL :)

Well for me the big + was availability of the My Verizon app and the GPS works great now....locks up in 5-10 secs where it took 5-10 min before. Never had the reboots before and still don't. everything I've tried so far works as expected.

I'm at 7 hours and counting with no reboots. According to my battery app, it lasted about 21 minutes longer than normal, and I was using it more heavily then normal. I'd say the update tacked on 30 minutes to my stock battery. There's definitely a battery improvement.

Still lots of bloatware. LTE on/off is great if you are in an LTE area and want to keep it off when you're not doing data-heavy things. I'd like to see Juicedefender Ultimate add a list of apps that it turns 4G on for...

The data usage tracker widget is nice for those who aren't on unlimited plans, or for those of us on unlimited who want to see what we'd be paying per month if we paid by the gigabyte ;)

Now we eagerly await gingerbread, Verizon...

TBolt working like a champ after the OTA. The only bad thing: the leaked Skype with video app is now rendered crap. Oh well. But everything else is working like it should. I never had reboot issues unless I went away from the Bay Area, so I would need to travel somewhere else and check it. GPS locks like it's no one's business! Overall, the phone seems snappier. I need a complete day with it to see if this really did do a lot for the phone....

So far pretty much like everyone else.

GPS lock is way faster - and the weather widget is now showing proper locations.

OS speed is increased.

I tried to recreate the WiFi / loss of data issue noted earlier. Data was missing for about 5 seconds then flashed back on on its own. It also appears to be handing off between LTE and 3G smoother.

My Verizon App is working.

I am thinking the Droid Life PDF got some Gingerbread elements mixed in, as the tabbed app drawer is a Gingerbread feature.

Added Verizon contact numbers to Sim card in that now show in your contact list. Which by default show up at top of your contact list. So now you get double #bal / #data and they DO NOT hide even if you have your viewing options set to not show Sim to show and from what I can tell you can't delete or hide them at all.

After a few minutes (maybe an hour) you will get a suggestion in your notification tray asking of you want to link the duplicate contacts. Do so and they will only show up once from now on.

OTA + 10 hours: NO reboots yet, would have been 4-5 already. Nothing else that hasn't been discussed so far and if that is the end of the constant/random reboots I'm happy.

We are getting 4G in about 10 days so I'll be able to see if the update fixes that 3G-4G-1X drop out issues we had when the TB was first released.

Downloaded and installed....no problem
Venice Florida 8:15 PM last night total download and install took 45 min. (3g area)
All is well and I do have app drawer but still trying to figure out landscape clock when docked.
Havent checked MHS yet but I never use it anyway.
This phone has been good since day 1 even the MR1 didnt seem to cause any problem and I still think it is because I am not close to any 4G areas yet.

Yeahhhhhh. I've lost LTE, too. :-/

Trying a hard reset now, just because.

Edit: I take it back. Looks like LTE's down here at the moment. Only getting 3G on my stick, too.
