New OTA impact thread - please report in

Data connection at work is better. Used to spend most of the day 1x now spending all day in 3g, just like my droid1.

I'm in a 3G only area but I've noticed that signal is a lot stronger now. No reboots, better signal strength and no GPS problems makes this an awesome phone.

One issue that I have come across that I have never experienced until after the update: I dialed my Voicemail to grab a new voice mail waiting for me and something happened to the connection and my call got dropped, no biggie it happens. What was weird though is that the phone still thought it was connected, the notification bar was glowing green (just like when your in a call and browse away from the call screen like going into your email) and my Bluetooth radio was going crazy in the car (my phone goes through it). I tried to call my voice mail again and it just wouldn't go through. Finally after a few minutes I was able to dial out and once I did everything went back to normal. Very strange.

Other things I noticed, my SMS notification sound got reset (nothing critical), battery life for me is worse (and I turn 4G off) and my data connection is still flaky. The data connection will drop all together after leaving a wifi area I'm usually connected to and it will take a good 5-10 minutes before the phone will grab a Verizon 3G/1X signal after leaving WiFi. And no, it's not because i might still be in range and the phone is trying to lock onto a weak Wifi signal because I can be miles from my house driving and I still won't get a data connection.

GPS does lock on FAST so that's a good thing. As for reboots, time will tell but I usually would get at least one reboot while using the GPS. This morning I used the GPS without a problem, no reboots but it's still to early to tell.

Stock with new OTA and I'm still getting reboots. Had 4 just yesterday! Time to get a replacement... :(

Well..still unable to DL the update...restarted...batt pull...1X trick..nope....3G..nope..4G...nope...more restarts and batt pulls...no change...but from reading you guys posts maybe this is good...idk...if i used the Mobile Hot Spot that would be...but no...lol

but I believe this will lead to root very very soon. likely tonight...time to get my feet wet...

I cannot detect any discernible difference between the leaked MR2 (from June) and this Official version. I've never had a reboot problem. My gps always worked. Battery life is better.

No real noticeable difference. I will give it a couple of days like everyone should to see how it responds overall. I initially had issues getting a data connection. A battery pull and finally able to log into My Verizon enabled LTE just fine here in Honolulu.

Under People, i now have 3 #BAL, 3 #data, 3 #PMT. how can i get rid of these? i have the View SIM unchecked. thanks

Not much difference but its a good idea to download the 2nd leaked MR to get back on the OTA track in preparation for GB.

This is the exact same experience as I have had.

I've found one way to get it to get a 1xRTT/3G signal faster is to force it into LTE-only mode and when it picks up, back to EvDO (auto).

Updated Saturday. Lost 3g once that day. Battery over Saturday night horrible. Lost half just sitting there. Rebooted once Sunday but wasn't using most of the day. Today I'm losing he 3g signal all the time. 5 tomes while reading this thread. So I did a battery pull no help. So I did the battery pull and sim card. No help. I have 4 bars and they stay there but the 3g with arrows disappears then comes back. I'm waiting for it to come back so I can send this reply.......
GPS locks fast and accurate.
Well its not coming back.....
Went to airplane mode and back to mobile and got 1x
Hey now I have 3g. Lets see if it posts.....

I am not entirely sure if you are looking for help or just giving a run-down of what you phone has been doing...

Both but Now I'm looking for help....
I had the issue before the update but it would stay off. Now its just going off and on. Just now to see this thread it said network not available. Tapped link again same thing. Next time 3g came up and it connected. I went ahead and put it to cdma b/c no lte here. No help.

After flashing the new MR2 RUU Friday night, I too had some connectivity issues even after a factory data reset (master reset). It cleared up though after powering off the phone, pull the battery and SIM card for at least 2 minutes. This forces the SIM/phone to reprovision on the network. I still occasionally see the 3G icon briefly drop when I'm at work (it doesn't do it at home). But that has always happened at work since I first got the phone. I think it has something to do with the building structure and where I'm located in it.

everything is going great even before the update, btw how do i check if i still have the free hotspot or not

So far so good as far as the random reboots go, thank god that seems to be over with, but we still need a few more days to make sure. Otherwise the only thing that I have noticed over the last two nights is when I go to charge my phone overnight like I always do, when I wake up in the morning the status light is still Orange, not green as if it was fully charged and it is always green in the morning before this update happened. It even shows the little lightning bolt in the batter icon still as if it's still charging and the HTC Battery Widget shows it at 98% and still charging. Please don't tell me I'm gonna see more battery issues now, but it never did this before the update, looks like I may be trading one problem for another. I must say I'm getting more and more disappointed with this phone and I really don't want to go back to Moto.
