New phone time! Stuck between Moto x and LG G2.

Its interesting to me that of my 4 devices my G2 is the smallest and feels small. Its interesting that others would consider it to be large.

Well it certainly depends on what your used to, however the G2 is much bigger than flagships of 2 years ago

If your OK with the larger size, get the G2. The only reason to skip it is the size and if you ABSOLUTELY NEED those updates. Screen quality, size, pixel, camera quality, battery life, processor are all much better on the G2. The moto X is a wonderful phone, but its hard to say it has fast updates. Sure it got to 4.4 soon, but only time will tell if that was a marketing gimmick to get people to love them or if they are going to truely be ahead of the curve. They still technically dont have 4.4.2 where the GPe devices do if you wanna be really picky.

Yeah, but it's still a fact that it has a near-stock experience. It is a lot easier to update it without a skin over the OS. Even the Maxx has already been updated to 4.4 whereas there is still no word on the G2's update aside from the few rumors that suggest sometime next month.

True, which is why I put on my post that unless you need those updates etc etc. 4.4 ROM for the Korean G2 is already leaked so it's at at least confirmed that they are working on it

International phones usually get their updates a few weeks or even months ahead of the U.S.

That could be a crutch of you don't like rooting and ROMs. I for one completely disagree with CIQ on the att model so it's either international based ROM or no G2 for me.

I have a custom ROM on my S4, but honestly I would prefer if I didn't have to do it to get the stock Android experience. I would trade my S4 for a Moto X, not for a G2.

I've had two moto x, and they both have been disappointing. Battery life is no better than nexus 5 while every review says the moto x has a better battery. Active display is nice but that's literally all I enjoyed with the moto x, everything else is much better on other devices available. To each their own though.

I can't comment on battery life VS the Nexus 5, but I can say that I have found the battery life on the Moto X to be very good. I had an HTC One for a short while and the Moto X is definitely better than that. It's also better than my iPhone 5c. To me the Moto X is the best phone available right now, especially for the money. Sure you might not have a 1080p display, but the difference on a display that small is so small that you won't notice unless they are side by side. The specs don't matter. I'm telling you this phone is just as smooth and fast as any quad core phone I've used or smoother and faster in some cases. Coming from a Note II, the form factor is perfect. I can reach all four corners of the phone easily. Also having near-stock Android is amazing. When I first heard about the wrist flick camera shortcut, I thought it was a cheap gimmick. Come to find out it's extremely useful and I use it almost every day. Touchless control is also very handy. I use it every day to set reminders and alarms. It gets even more useful in the car. All this coupled with the fact that I received my update to Kit Kat even before some Nexus devices, makes this the current winner. I wouldn't even think twice about it. BUT after all it's all about opinion and what matters most to you personally.

That's the appeal of the G2 to me. Overall size is close to the One, as well as other phones, yet they squeezed that 5.2 inch screen onto it.

Same here and to me the One has the best screen but the G2 isn't far behind

If call quality is important to you, you'll want to do some call comparisons. Users are reporting call quality issues on some G2 devices. There are a couple threads on this board that discuss call quality issues. My wife and I use our phones in our business. Pretty screens and bleeding edge tech are secondary for us. We ended up returning our g2s after exchanging twice and still encountering bad call quality.

I believe the call quality issues were only on some Verizon phones. (And there was a fix issued for it.)
I have the ATT version and have no call quality issues at all.

I have Verizon and haven't had any call quality issues....an update went out a few days ago and I think that addressed some call concerns.

i was stuck between the two as well. Really happy I chose the G2, have never regretted it
same here! I've had it for 4 days now and it is amazing! The screen is beautiful and the device is crazy fast. I don't know about you guys but I think the stock UI is actually nice for what it is.

Its such a great device. LG really outdid themselves with the G2.

If you want the latest and greatest go for LG G2, the Moto X is old hardware the only advantage is the outer shell customization and the welcome message...
