New pictures of the Bionic!

Although I would like a 4.5 screen, I am pretty sure that it is 4.3 with a thick bezel around the outside.

I am not a skinny jean kind of guy so bigger will still fit in my pocket.

The pictures look good, and I look forward to really getting my hands on this.

Remember, my momma always said, :It's whats on the inside that counts, like more RAM."

Not sure if I am quoting her exactly but close enough.

.2 inches isn't really going to make a huge difference when you actually get the thing. If you have skinny jeans, you're in the wrong market already. Go buy one of those small WebOS phones they're marketing now.
I knew that this phone would be damn sexy. Can't wait to hold this thing.

Well somebody cut out the screens and posted it on twitter:
@droid_life Took your original picture and cut out the screen... on Twitpic

That does look like a significant difference attributable to more than just perspective and/or the qHD dimensions

Couple things:

1. The smallest part of the Bionic (not the "hump") is next to the largest part of the Charge (back "hump" near the speakers") so it "looks" like its alot thinner than it is. It may be thinner but not by much and it's no "infuse".

2. Act like your holding a 4.3/4.5 touch screen cell phone in your hand and your looking at the screen... go ahead do it. Now look at where your index and middle fingers were, slightly behind your ring and pinky finger right? Maybe enough room for a slightly long "hump" to be? eh? eh? :p Moto did their homework on this one.

3. gimme gimme gimme!
The question is the Bionic ready for prime time? With all the hardware modifications and cosmetic changes Moto really needs to get this one right. I'm willing to jump on board if this is a solid device! I mean really, after 5 months you can basically start at the early stages of device developement.

that lip kills the phone

Almost every Android phone has a "lip" (or chin), which is space below the capacitive buttons so that you have somewhere to rest your finger. Look at other phones and you'll see. They may not be as pronounced as the Droid Bionic's but they're there.

The hardware is there and some of the best out or going to be out, if it's stable, everything works and has decent battery life it will be a solid hit.

I'm hoping to see good battery life, the original Etna design was announced with a 1,930 mAh battery wasn't it? If it was and still continues then that by itself will give it way better battery than any 4G LTE device currently on the market, and most likely any in the near future.
Motorola's phones are usually pretty stable, not that many problems if I do remember. I usually see updates for phones from other companies, not often to Motorola's unless it's like Froyo to Gingerbread.

Just for fun - @MDB228 Twittered: "My screen is Pentile to save battery life. This along with my 1900 Mah battery will keep me running long after other have died."

I'm really glad the hump is on the top section of the phone instead of the bottom like the X2. I have pretty large hands (full stretched my palm measures close to 9.5" thumb to pinky, tip to tip) and really thin phones are awkward for me to hold.

I personally think the lip adds something nice to the phone. I'm kinda of tired of everything trying to look so streamline. I tend to like a more boxy style (squared edges with slight fillets) so from looking at the pictures I think the phone looks great.

I DO wish we had a better profile view along with a higher quality frontal. So farm I'm definitely please though :)

This looks like it might be a demo unit. No one mentioned the stock sticker on the back of the phone that you pull off when pull it out of the box. Or is that just me.

So no physical camera button (which we kinda knew), Power / Lock button is on left side vs. the right... hrmm.... and its maybe an 1/8" taller than the Charge. Coming from an OG droid it looks huge, but probably about the same size as the X or X2. Have to see how battery life is, I am starting to doubt the Nexus Prime will be here anytime soon, if it lands before X-Mas I will be surprised. I think I may still end up with the Bionic, will be hard to say goodbye to my OG Droid. :'(

If you caught it yesterday, Blackmanx tweeted yesterday : "I Scream, U scream, we all scream, on 11/27." But deleted the tweet shortly after. And then mentioned that "Optimus ain't got nothing on ours." I believe he works for Google now and was possibly talking about the Nexus Prime release date if everything goes according to plan. Take it as you see fit.

Well if you consider the recent activity.. the current proposed release date of the Prime is the end of November. I still plan to go BIONIC with my NE2 discount and should the Prime be leaps and bounds ahead I may consider a full purchase.. but I am just hoping that the unlock of the bootloader occurs on the BIONIC by then and then I won't really bother with the Prime, I will wait until something next year.

I get the feeling that the mod community really wants to sink its teeth into this device but it totally depends on whether or not Moto actually allows for unlocks as too how deep they get. I know there will be ways to root it discovered (there are always are), but devs like freedom to experiment. So that will determine how much future support the device has.

That big ass hump is hiding a big ass battery! I'm willing to bet...Unless the antenna for 4G takes up that much space and/or the camera is that much bigger than the camera in the DX...

If Motorola were to unlock the Bionic I think we'd have another OG Droid in terms of dev support. But if they wait til November, it may be too late at that point as most of the people that wanted the Bionic would already have bought it.

I like the look of it. It all depends on how the screen is for me. I have not gone to look at the D3 yet so I don't know about the screen.

Droid-Life is about to post more pics. Fingers crossed for a profile picture!
