New Pixel Buds 2 are available now !!!!

Do anyone know when the buds are connected if there is any way to get the persistent battery level notification in the drop down? It popped up before and then disappeared. So it probably just shows when the buds is initially placed in the ears and then it goes away.I know it shows it in the bluetooth settings.

The Bluetooth battery notification stays in the status bar.

What phone is you using because I don't have that battery indicator at all. I'm using the Pixel 4 XL
Yeah, nor do I. I have my Bluetooth battery meter in the Bluetooth settings of menu settings. Right now I have my Bose earbuds until you get my Pixel bud 2's.

I am having a battery drain issue with my left bud. It is draining significantly faster than the right bud. I just got them today. I will give it a couple of days to see if it evens out.

So I figured it out somewhat. so if you open the case, the battery information is showed in the notification panel. When you close the lid, the battery info is gone.

If you remove the buds and place them in your ear, then the battery level for each buds is showed in the taskbar near the bluetooth icon.

These are awesome! I received them at lunch time and finished out my work day with them, switching between music and audiobooks.

Oh this all sounds just so wonderful!! Can't wait!

You can check the battery in the quick settings. And if you long press the Bluetooth icon it'll take to the connected devices which shows battery percentage for both buds.

Granted it'll be nice if they show it in quick settings for both the buds.

Are you able to request a specific song on your phone be played using the buds? I ask because I have trouble using the Assistant to request a song be played from the Play app. Even when the song is on my phone, the GA tells me I need to be a Play subscriber (which I'm not) to hear it.

I think you have to be a Google play music for premium subscriber to also request songs. I understand that because I've used play music for years and only enrolled in the premium subscription for my rewards money but now I can request songs and not artists just let you know.

It's just a little ridiculous that I'm asking for a song which I own and is on my phone and the GA/Play won't allow me to play it. Frustrating.

Yeah I'll admit that's a bit frustrating. Sorry, I didn't realize you own the music that you were trying to call by song name. I also think having a Google play music premium subscription at 10 bucks regardless of where the money is coming from is absurd 10 bucks a month for music is ridiculous if you ask me....

I use YouTube music and been YouTube premium subscriber from beginning so not sure how it'll work without that. But either way asking for a song to play is more of a Google Assistant thing nothing to do with buds. It's like asking to Google assistant to play a song on any other device. Pixel buds is just another voice interface to Google assistant on your phone. It will behave similar to how you would ask on your phone using Google Assistant.

I'm sure you'll be able to find some bargains on them, if you don't mind waiting. Verizon and US Cellular had deals on them on day 1.
Well, this turned out to be not such a good deal. After several days of not getting shipping information, I finally got someone from US Cellular, who verified they ran out of the product, and all other orders were cancelled. Nice of them to notify me. Oh, wait, they DIDN'T! So back to the drawing board. On Google's waiting list. Any idea when they'll have more in stock?

Damn I'm really so sorry to hear that! Google store is the best place to order these that's for sure.

I can't use corded bluetooth buds with the cords dangling around. Main reason I hated the original Pixel buds and now the OnePlus bullet bluetooth earbuds. For me if it's bluetooth, it's got to be in-ear completely wire free. The only thing I can think is may be the wired bluetooth buds can have longer battery because they can fit a larger battery in the wire compared to the wireless earbuds but charging the wired bluetooth is much harder than placing the wireless earbuds in the case. Yes you have to eventually charge the case but you can just place them on a wireless charger while not using and good to go.

What are your concerns about true wireless earbuds? It's probably more of a preference thing and what you are used to I guess but I definitely can't go back to any wired bluetooth earbuds. If I had to then I might as well go full wired USB-C or normal earphones with headphone adapter instead

My concern really is the price. I usually use 30$ earbuds. I'm wondering if it's worth the buy... That would be my first investment in a headset that's over $100 .

I mean I'll tell you this much... I've had Bluetooth headphones forever. Never had wired earbuds. I currently have The Bose SoundSport truly wireless earbuds. And they're okay. They're normally $3 I got them on sale at Best buy for $170. They're huge, and so is the charger case. They protruded out of the ear tons. The battery life is the exact same as the pixel Bud 2. If you press and hold the play pause button they do have activation with Google Assistant but not fully integrated just regular Google Assistant. As far as the fin finish, they're okay. However, the Bluetooth pairing in the sinking is starting to annoy me and frustrate me. That's why I can't wait for my pixel blood tools to come in the mail and a couple of weeks! The picture book is a great for anyone who is in the Google ecosystem especially if you have a pixel phone! Lol. As far as the fit and feel of them the picks about twos are supposed to be a lot thinner and lighter yet just as secure as my bow sounds for earbuds. That's what I'm most excited about!

I am in the Google ecosystem. This is why I'm wondering if I should also get the pixel buds. I think I'll make a decision by next weekend.
