New Pixel Buds 2 are available now !!!!

Jeff on twit is a huge Google shill so if he definitely had that problem for sure. Why he had that not sure, may be he had a faulty unit and I also know Jeff is not great at tech watching the TWIT shows over the years so may be some user error somewhere who knows. But I think if he says he is having an issue I would think it's genuine.
Well, fair enough. However I don't know who he is but marques brownlee CNET the verge all these other reviewers and editors reviewed it as well, and no one else has mentioned this. So yeah, kind of hoping there's no widespread problem here I doubt there it though...

For those who have been using the buds for a while now, how is the comfort level when using for longer periods of time? A couple of reviewers have mentioned that the rubber stabilizer thingy can get painful. Given that eveyone's ear is different, I guess this will vary from one user to another.

It's taken me a while to figure out the best fit, which size tip to use, etc. I kept thinking the wing tip had to be placed forward, but when I watched the video, it looks like you just find the best spot that holds it, and feels comfortable. I was thinking it had to face forward so that the touch controls worked for volume up and down, but Google must have made it work based on where you have it set, because my wings are closer to the back of my ear, and the touch controls work perfectly. Now I hardly can feel them in my ear. Very comfortable for me.

I mean, yes, that's a very good question. I think once you get used to The feeling in your ear, , it becomes second nature but it's still a good question.

I would say they are average in terms of comfort. They feel great when you initially put them on but after an hour or so it does start to feel uncomfortable. I just take it out for a couple of minutes and then put back on. But you are correct everyone's ear is different so it all depends. I know the airpods doesn't fit properly to so many people, for example my wife hates them but they fit so nicely for me and I can wear them for hours and don't even realize they are in my ears. These are the airpods 2 not the airpods pro which I also have and they slip out of my ears constantly. For me the Bose earbuds design especially their winged rubbery silicone tips are the most comfortable one till now. I'm waiting for them to come with a smaller truly wireless earbuds. The one they have currently fits great but it's too damn big.

Yeah exactly. I mean I have my Bose Earbuds currently, and they do for my ears pretty well. No complaining here. Number 1 issue I knew about them when I bought them was they're huge.. there's just no way getting around that. Compared to every other earbud on the market, they're freaking massive. Their Google Assistant activation is a hit or miss most of the time. That's been pissing me off a lot more-so lately. Their battery life is exactly the same as the pixel Bud's 2 which is honestly all I need. As far as sound quality sound quality, they're good. I mean I've had quite a few Bluetooth syncing issues with them concerning the left and right earbuds since it's a parent/child relationship. I just can't wait to try mine out and then you're near future honestly! I'm sure they'll fit in my ears just fine. Everyone's ears are different.

The Google Assistant integration is working like a charm for me. If my hands are full, I can start it up and ask it to pause music, increase or decrease volume, or play the next or previous song for me.

Yeah I mean my Bose earbuds can do that as well, but they don't always work correctly. That's the main problem with them.

Does anyone here have both the Pixel Buds 2 and Apple Air Pods Pro? I'm curious how the sound quality compares.

The Pixel Buds 2 compare and compete more with the Airpods 2 than airpods pro. I have all three and the airpods pro advantage is it has active noise cancelling. In terms of sound may be airpods pro has slight edge especially with noise cancelling on. If you are in iOS ecosystem airpods are the ones, but the pixel buds work great with pixel or any Android phones. If you are planning to use with Android I would go with pixel buds over airpods pro.

Agree with airpods are best on IOS; however, for Android, there are buds out there with better specs than these google buds. But to each their own.

Yuppers yuppers I agree with you! If you're on Android, especially a pixel phone, these will be the best Earbuds for you.

Ok thanks.

Like you, I am a phone addict and I have both a Pixel 4 and an iPhone 11 pro. I have the Airpods Pro and I like how seamlessly they work with iOS. They work quite with my Pixel too, but I'd like a similar seamless operation with my Pixel 4, especially with Google Assistant. I just wasn't sure about the sound quality (I find Airpods Pro to be very good).

The Pixel Buds 2 aren't even available in Canada yet, and when they finally are god knows what kind of price point they'll have. Hopefully they come out soon.

Honestly, same thing for me... Same feelings!

Yes pixel buds integration is awesome only with Pixel but other Android phones as well. Sound quality is great and especially with Google Assistant integration it's a joy to use. I would definitely recommend, as some reviews have rightly called it's airpods of Android. Everything just works and haven't had a since instance where I put the buds on and it didn't connect automatically or stuff like that. The controls on the buds are intuitive and easy to use.

Negatives are battery life could have been better and it does kind of hurt after wearing for few hours. Started observing this after few days but that depends on how it fits in everyone's ear. Even the airpods pro have some issues in this regards for me. They don't hurt but kind of don't stay secure in the ear and feel kind of start slipping out after few hours. On the other hand airpods 2 fit great in my ear and comfortable for hours without any issue.

Such a great review thank you very much l appreciate it! Honestly, in contrast to the pixel bud 2's for their cons, my Bose earbuds after a few hours start to annoy my ears however I'm just so used to them that I don't really care about it anymore lol. As far as a battery life, honestly 5 hours without a charge is great for sport style buds. I mean how big of a mah battery do you think you're getting get in that charging case and the buds themselves? Lol sure over the head headphone style we'll have a bigger battery built into them thus giving him more battery life. I mean that makes logical sense. Haha. I mean I'm not quite sure how the Samsung Galaxy earbuds + have more battery life inside the buds themselves but I think they're bigger design overall which probably can incorporate a bigger battery into the buds and the case. I'm willing to sacrifice battery in order for the sleek design of the buds though! That's great to know that the assistant integration is your compiler! And yes, the AirPods for Android no one's denying that and that's a great great thing! When I first bought my boys earbuds a year and a half ago, when I press and hold that on the play button to activate Google Assistant, the Google Assistant worked better and more reliably with my buds. As of recently even before my wife ordered them for me, my Bose earbuds we're starting to have issues integrating so well with Google Assistant on my Pixel 3 XL which is driving me nuts very frustrating!

Right on.

Sounds like I'll give them a go whenever they're available in Canada. Thanks!

If price is a concern and you are looking for value buy this definitely doesn't fit that. You probably will be able to find other earbuds. But if you are shopping for earbuds which are in the range of around $150, I would say this are worth considering for a little more.

I was trying to justify the expense but I thought about it and decided to give them a try. I'm calling it an early birthday to myself lol. I ordered them sometime last week and they are supposed to arrive at the end of the month. I'm excited to try for the first time true wireless earbuds but also afraid on how they will fit.

Well if you're wondering if you can tell the difference between $30 earbuds, and $170 earbuds the simple answer is yes. You've got to make that decision for yourself though;you're right. From for and finish, to quality to Google Assistant integration, of course everything is all there. That's the most I can tell you. Good luck in your decision.

That was definitely one of my concerns. After long thought I purchased the pixel buds and waiting on arrival at end of month. Also thinking about I have $30 earbuds, 2 30$ earbuds at work, and a few more at home that stopped working. So I have easily spent that money on cheap earbuds lol. Hopefully this won't be the case in long term. Off subject the most reliable in the 30$ has been the soundbud slim+. Ill definitely compare the two when I get the pixel bud

Yup yup, I hear you! I would say that having an excellent set of earbuds/headphones is essential, especially if you're a techno geek. Haha
