New S20+ and Nest Doorbell isn't showing preview video on lockscreen

I had a Note 9 and this was working fine, but with my new S20+ for some reason when I get a Nest Doorbell notification, I can't see the video preview like I could on the Note. I can see the notification but can't slide it down to see the preview. This applies both to movement and to the doorbell ring.

Here's the really odd thing - I have a few other Nest external cameras and those notifications show the video preview. The notification channels are set exactly the same, so I'm not sure why all the other cameras show the preview, but the front door/doorbell camera doesn't.

Anyone else experiencing this?

here's some screenshots showing what I mean. The top and the bottom notification are for the Ring front doorbell. The middle one is for my driveway camera. Note the drop-down area on the driveway camera that allows me to expand and see a preview on the lockscreen (actually the same thing happens with unlocked notification panel as well)

I've wiped the app caches, wiped data, uninstalled Nest and reinstalled it and still have the same issue. I'm stumped.

Have you checked if permission is given ?

The only permission requested is location, which is enabled to "Always". Even if that was set wrong, the Nest app provides that preview for my other cameras, just not the doorbell. Which is why it's so odd.

I set up my old Note 9 again with Nest and tested it, and it works fine by still getting the preview video. Every setting I have checked is set the same as on the S20+.

Gotcha , long press the app then tap info, go to notifications and check there might have to tap on any them to get submenu see how it compares with your other phone

yep, did that already and it was exactly the same. After digging some more, I finally found this page in Nest Hello support where others are having the issue (Note 20 and S20 users who just got the 2.5 One UI upgrade):

I also have this issue on my Note 20 Ultra. Some people have suggested clearing cache in other forums, which for some works temporarily, others not at all. I just tried it, but haven't gotten any notifications yet.

I do see on your pics that there is a small thumbnail beside your doorbell notification, but not the camera notification. I don't remember seeing anything like that on mine.
 
So, I cleared the cache in the app, and the next notification did not have the preview drag down. But I just got another one, and it did have the drag down.... go figure

Surprised that worked for you. I tried that, rebooted, wiped cache partition, completely wiped app data, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, even removed all my zones on my front door, etc. Nothing fixed my problem specific to the front door.

This ONLY applies to the front door Nest Hello. All of my Nest outdoor cameras work fine in the drop-down (as shown in the pictures above where the drop-down arrow appears for one of my outdoor Nest cams but does not show for the Nest Hello doorbell).

Apparently many folks have the same issue on the Google help site. But only on Samsung devices that have upgraded to OneUI 2.5. At first Google was responsive in the support site, but it's been crickets for weeks now with no resolution.

It's weird, SOMETIMES I get a notification preview, most of the time, none. Also, when I do get a preview, it isn't a gif, just a still image.
I blame Samsung on this, mostly because it's not the only app giving me weird notification issues. If I get a Messenger notification, the icon badge says I have two notifications, yet I only have one message. If I get a voicemail, I literally get 4 notifications, for ONE voicemail. Now I hate scam callers even more. DING. DING. DING. DING. "Oh, my student loan that I paid off 2 years ago looks eligible for refinancing? Tell me more!"

That is weird. I never get a Nest Hello preview, but thankfully I don't have all the other notification issues you have. That would drive me nuts.
