New Samsung messages app

The problem with not using Samsung messages is that you won't get a good messaging experience on their watches and tablets if you own all three. Samsung needs to get their act together and just start using Google messages.
This is exactly why I switched back to the Samsung messaging app. I had been using the Google Messaging app for a long time because it is so awesome and RCS worked perfectly. However, using the Galaxy Watch 3, Samsung Messages just works better. I'm able to view messages in a much cleaner and complete way. I actually like the Samsung messaging app, I just hate the AT&T "Advanced Messaging" which is their poor attempt at RCS.

When I first opened the Samsung messenger app, it asked if I wanted to activate rcs. I'm on verizon. Didn't have that option on the s20fe.

That makes no sense though since google messages has rcs capability for any Android device if it's carrier supported. It's exactly the same app lol. I just wish carriers would fully support rcs for Samsung messages. T-Mobile does which means wether you use Samsung messages or Google messages the RCS communicates with both.
It should look identical , just have Google RCS integrated.

Only thing I noticed different or maybe was on before and missed is you can open a thread and create a Chat Room with custom background for that thread.

I think that's why Samsung going with Google rcs because carrier have their own version of rcs

T-Mobiles rcs works with Samsung messages and google so either you use will work on someone from another carrier with google messages. They just need to get on the other major carrier to make rcs work and everything will be fine.

So much mess and confusion with Android messaging ecosystem

I'm not into the full Samsung ecosystem (don't like other stuff from Samsung expect phones) and I use Google messages on my S21 Ultra which I prefer anyway. Works out of the box just fine and for my use case.

Yeah but Tmobile, Verizon, AT&T are different , so Google wants take the carriers out of it and make it all global

Seems weird that you never had the option in Samsung Messages. I have had it enabled right from when I first got my S10+ a year ago. But I am in the UK and we were the first area Google rolled out RCS in 2019.

Does anyone know how make google message pop up on lock screen? I checked all settings " show on lock screen " is marked and show detailed is marked as well but still only icon pops, textra and stock app always pop up and show content but not google.
