New samsung S5, USB debugging inactive how to activate it?

Hi,
I have Samsung Galaxy S5 (model: SM-G500FD) (v 5.0) and welling to root it, however, when I reached to the step of enabling "USB debugging" it is grey "inactive" and I am not able to check the box? Any advice on how to fix this problem?

This may sound silly, but did you ensure Developers Option is turned ON at top?
