New software update from AT&T

I have noticed the phone no longer vibrates when it connects to a call.....that is if you have "no vibrate" turned off in the settings. Little thing but was aggravating.

Where do you find this? I can't seem to!

Interested to know what you find.

Yes, me too. That link was the only info that I could find on an update, and I was misled because the article was dated with today's date. XDA says it fixes the buttons. It seems to have extended the area for the back button, but I haven't noticed a larger area for the home button. I was really hoping for a camera update.

Actually, it looks like the article was dated from almost this date last month (29 April). But I can see where someone might miss that when quickly scanning the headline. It's all good. I know we get excited about this stuff and are anxious to share news. ;)

Yes!! Volume is fixed!! Now it isn't too loud on lowest setting

My bad. I usually watch for that stuff. Couldn't find any other info on the Att update, though. It's gotta be on Att's website somewhere, but finding it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Soft keys definitely better

What was the issue with the buttons? My main gripe was the home button not detecting a press and HOLD to get to Google Now. It would just register a regular press and end up going to the home screen. Is that what is fixed? Or was there some other button issue that I was not aware of?

While trying to update, my internet connection at work got disconnected. After it was brought back online, it would never finish the download. I rebooted it in hopes that it would clear it out. Now it just says "Continue Update" below the AT&T software update section. If I select it, it does nothing.

Not sure what to do!!

Home and back keys are vastly improved for me. Volume during music playback still is really loud at the softest setting however.

Run the ruu I posted in the rooting section. I'm assuming your bootloader is still locked. If not lock it and run the file. It'll wipe your phone, but it is already updated.
I really wish I would have liked at the firmware version when I posted it. I feel pretty bad, as I've sorta let down the community by dropping the ball.

Reboot the phone. That should fix it.

Home and back buttons working way better. I like it!

Ditto. Mine weren't terrible before but there were times where they seemed a tad under-sensitive. Update appears to have totally alleviated the issue.

I'm with Telus and just got a notification about the update. Updated to version 1.29.661.17

this is the media link update. I wiped out the HTC update out unknowingly last week during a wipe and it hasn't worked until this evening after the AT&T update. Furthermore, an HTC rep told me that this would be happening, he just didn't know when.

So nobody knows yet precisely what this update included? I think we are speculating that it fixed the soft buttons because several people are saying that they see improvement. But I don't know if that is a placebo effect or not (my soft buttons worked about 90% of the time - not great but not too horrible).

I saw the camera pictures for the before & after patch update and the improvement was very noticeable and amazing. But if that software update was 200+ MB and this one was 20MB, it doesn't seem like it would be included.

I'm confused reading the previous link - in the article, they refer to update 1.29.206.11. But in the screenshot, it says successfully completed 1.29.401.12. And the version that we got ended in 502.12.

If anyone knows anything more, please share.
