Hi I recently purchased a 16G Note 10.1 and I already think I bought the wrong one.. I didn't download that many apps and already I have only a little over 3gs left.. I haven't been able to figure which memory card to purchase yet.. Which brings my questions..

1. Can I save apps, movies, music, and pictures on the card?

2. Does disabling apps free up any internal memory space?

3. Which memory card works well with this tablet?

4. Should I forget the card and just return this note for the 32g?

Any help is greatly appreciated.. :)

Not apps, yes to the rest.

No, uninstalling does. So does wiping the data if it's an app you don't use.

3. Which memory card works well with this tablet?

Sorry I can't help with that one. I can say that people have been having a lot of problems with Sandisk cards in Samsung phones (S3, Note 2, etc) and so I'd tend to shy away from that one.

I'm a big fan of having as much on-board storage as you can get, but also don't be afraid to use cloud storage options such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Google+ for pictures, the Google Play Music service lets you store 20,000 songs on their services and pin (download) them to your device whenever you want. Even if you're storing a lot of info on removable storage, I'd still consider backing it up in the cloud, just in case something were to happen to the card (formatting issue, lost, damaged, etc).

Good Luck!

Thank you very much.. I'll work on that..

This is where I differ from my stance on phones. On a tab, you're more likely to use apps for entertainment purposes, that is, big games, and the like, and in general just have more apps. At least that's the way it is for me. So while the 16GB on my Note 2 is sufficient, there was no doubt I needed 32GB on the Note 10.1. So if you can exchange it, I would.

If only....Verizon offered only the 16GB version of the Note 10.1....no 32GB...etc. I considered buying a 4G LTE hotspot device and getting the 32GB Wi-Fi only version, but as a guyt hat takes the train into NYC and uses my tablet for work all the time, I just had to have 4G/LTE in it and my phones were already with Verizon.

As I look at mine, a month after getting it set up the way I want, I have 4.13GB Free on the tablet out of 10.5GB available. And I have 21.2GB free out of 59.4GB available on the 64GB Micro SD card...I use TubeMate (not in the Play store btw) to download YouTube videos extensively over Wi-Fi to watch on my tablet and I have a lot of PDFs for work on the card along with my notes from LectureNotes.

On my S4 I chose 32GB but I got the ATT GN10.1 which only comes with 16GB (actually 12.1) of usable space. For me that's not enough, but I can live with it on a tablet since my main goals are slightly different. I can learn to live with 1 big game at a time and play it to finish it and delete and move on. This may actually keep me from d/l games I just never finish. The 64GB microSD card will actually be used for movies and other app data I need to carry with me. Not perfect but I got it for $175 (normally $199.99) when I got the S4 32GB so for the price I was willing to make sacrifices if only to get a larger screen device for the uses I need. Now I need to root it and get AdBlocker Plus on it.

I'm really leaning towards getting the 32g note.. I just wish I didn't have to travel 13 miles to get it..

I got the 32GB Note and then 3 weeks after I bought the Class 10, 64GB SanDisc microSD card... it LOOKS like I got the same one as Pwscott but that is an EXCEPTIONAL deal.

When I got my Note 10.1 I bought it with my Father.... who with me bought identical "setups" . We were persuaded to upgraded from the Tab to the Note 10.1, which was a great idea. Then quickly from the 16 to 32GB. With the 32GB I said, listen we need Screen protectors, and the only thing they had were the expensive and possibly ripff ZAGG invisibleSHIELD, which we bought, plus installation {VERY SMART}, and Belkin Cinema Folio leather cases. My Father was also very interested and impressed with the upgraded memory capability and bought himself a top of the line 64GB Class 10 micro SD SanDisk card. The kid helping ups said it was on sale , FROM $100 ($99) to $60 (59). I did not get one. When I went back 3 weeks to the day later, they wouldn't help me at first but the two AWESOME young ladies at the Geek SquAD/cUSTOMER Service counter were like, "WHAT?? That Beeeatch in the camera department [where the SD cards etc. are stored] said NO? Too Bad Soo Sad??? REFUSED to help you?? GO GET ONE and we will give you the price , NO PROBLEM. {and then talked smack the whole time about not nice girl in the back}.

\I am EXTREMELY impressed with the card, I feel like if I can keep my Note undamaged and I'll use it for 3+ years it will be never in memory problems. PLUS I have a 8GB and 4GB micro SD from my not so great phones....I GOT Memory and the Class 10 is amazing. I filled it up right away with music and movies only to find my iTunes purchased movies won't play on the Tablet...so I deleted the movies to keep me some good room on their. If anyone EVER thinks 32GB is not enough for their uses or even bought a 16GB note, simply buy the card, it's the simple solution.

Does Best Buy price match with Amazon? I know they do with phones but I don't know about electronics..

I just went through this myself. Costco only carried the 16gb. After a few days of trying to push things to the card I concluded that the $50 more for the 32gb at Amazon was a small price to pay for effectively more than doubling real internal capacity.
