New Tapatalk app for android is horrible

I'm sort of with Leo. I don't love the new look, but it's not awful. It's just got serious usability problems. Hopefully a patch or two of moving things around a bit and it'll all be gravy.

Yeah.... It has some problems... but I would suspect that, after looking at all the customer complaints, they can tweak some things up and get it in a better condition.

Software is always in flux. I've grown accustomed to apps getting overhauled from time to time. Sometimes I like the new look, sometimes I don't. The only thing I care about is how usable the thing is... I can get used to a UI... Having to fuss around to do something that I used to do easily... that's what gets on my nerves. I use forum subscriptions most of the time... and this particular update seems to farm them off and puts more emphesis on a 'news feed' format as well as thread subbies. Not my cup of tea.... I mean, I could care less if there's a hot topic over on the Galaxy Note 2 forums, don't throw it in my face please.

From a UX standpoint, it can be fixed easily enough.

I agree what is even worse is that it no longer grays out read posts. I am using the app much less now since the "upgrade".

I can't stand it. I have it on my OPO and now I can't do much forum browsing on it anymore. It's hopelessly bad.

And they managed to make the old Froyo apk unusable/impossible to install. I don't understand that because it works fine on my Nexus 5.

Well I'm trying out Forum Fiend and it's nice. There needs to be an easier way to add forums but it's like the old Tapatalk 2.

Version 4.10.2 dated December 20, 2014 is now available. Supposed to fix several of the issues.

I noticed they removed the older version from the play store, and from Amazon before I had the chance to switch. Forum Fiend is still kind of rough around the edges (and front sides and back!) so I wish I just could use the old Tapatalk again.

I just issue Tapatalk in my iPad whenever possible and only use my phone with Tapatalk to reply to threads I want to by notification if I don't have my iPad with me

That's more or less what I'm doing, only using the older version on one phone because this one has the new version (can't get the old one now) and I can't browse the forums or timeline easily anymore. Forum Fiend only is setup for maybe one site so far, can't seem to login to other site forums on it.

I agree TaT has gotten harder to use. Not to mention all the versions they've come out with.

It is absolutely terrible now, only showing 3 threads on the screen and lots of useless info... but try to use tapatalk on ipad and you will be dead... This is a mess with ipad... Lucky i have a chance to use tapatalkPro in android.

How on earth they removed "read"/"unread" option? Now you dont know if there is a new reply or not...

The new Android version is painful to use and I tend not to use it much on the opo. I still have the usable old version on my Nexus 5. I'm going to try to uninstall the new version and replace it with 4.9.5.

only showing 3 threads on the screen

This is my biggest beef with the update. I'm a rather basic user, mainly browsing Unread threads. Instead of showing 6 or 7 threads on a page, it makes each header huge and now shows about 2.5 threads per page. I currently use a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5, so it's not like I have a miniature phone.

It is terrible. I was running the old version but it no longer hosts pictures so I had to upgrade. It is slower, scrolling is herby jerky, and forget about scrolling through a thread with lots of pictures. I often have to switch to Web view. I am very anxious for a new simpler app to come out but it must be able.to host pictures.

I'm using 4.9.5 and I can still see photos and scroll through them with no problem...

They updated ios version to be similar than android version. That is good to have both apps working in the same way... But lot of empty space and only few topic showing at once. And now ios version is crashing all the time...
