I said I'd never buy anything else but a Blackberry, and I meant it. It just took BlackBerry to switch to the dark side for me to go back to Android (had an S3 when it was the top tier phone, died in less than a year). While I do miss my Q10 for how fast I could move about the OS, this isn't such a bad experience. I was happy to get rid of Bell for a provider too. I like Eastlink as a company a lot more than Bell.
I justified the ludicrous price of over $1000 CAD (taxes in) by getting into Android development. I must say, developing for Android for the most part is an absolute dream. I develop GIS applications (Windows and web) for a living, and was able to hop right into it. I really wish there was a way to get a "Chrome Developer Tools" type of thing for Android. I have to do a lot of guessing and checking if I layout things programmatically. Laying things out programmatically in general is just a pain. That's my only real gripe though.
Anyway, as long as I'm developing for Android, I plan on being fairly active around these parts
