New to droids... launcher?

Getting the Note 8 on Monday.. really new to the whole droid thing... would you use a launcher if you were me? Which one and why?

No. Get to know the phone first before adding anything on top like a launcher. It changes the entire experience. Know what you are looking at first before trying to improve it, because you wouldn't know what aspect you'd want to be improving in the first place.

The Note comes with a launcher of course, I would suggest you use it for awhile and get used to the phone and what it offers. Then, if you wish, look into a different launcher. You can find quite a bit of discussion on those in the Note 8 forum. Nova is one of the most popular.

The stock launcher is actually decent. But if you like to tweak and customize then Nova is the way to go. If you want better integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, go with Arrow.

I used Arrow when I had the Note 7 and loved it. Now that I'm not using my phone for work I'm wondering if I should still use arrow (I'm deeply in the MS Ecosystem) or something else.

The first thing you need to know is that this isn't a Droid. "Droid" does not equal Android. it was a marketing strategy by Verizon and Motorola (and somewhat HTC).

I agree with the posts suggesting you get used to the phone first. Then, depending on what your primary usage is (social media, watching vids, gaming, note taking, email, drawing) there are launchers catered to almost anything.

Depends on how you want to integrate. I loved arrow until my employer switched to Office 365 and Intune device management. The policies they pushed down to my device caused some odd issues. But for personal use, the integration with my mail and onedrive services was great.
