New to eris, but not modding...

Hello,

First off, I am not new to rooting, flashing rom's etc. I have a rooted Droid X with Gingerbread on it atm.

I wanted to ask the regulars in this thread what a recommended rom would be. My girlfriend just recieved a hand me down Eris, and it's her first smartphone period let alone Android. I was planning on using the rooting from 2.1 to froyo 2.2 thread in this forum to get started, but I have no idea about rom's.

Any suggestions on which one's are good? Looking for stable, good looking roms.

I think that the best to start with is xtrSENSE - it's basically stock, overclocked, very snappy (for the Eris), and has a feature called cache2cache which allows quite a bit more space for user apps and data.

If you want something besides 2.1, I would skip right past Froyo and try a Gingerbread ROM called Condemned CM7.
