I am new to Smart Watches the Moto 360 2nd Gen will be my first. What do you recommend the first thing I should do with it out of the box? If you had other Smart watches how does it compare to others? Any must have apps?

Here is Android Central’s Android Wear page: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...d-wear&usg=AFQjCNEYyR8QWzgbHYV15JUoiFlO5ev9qA

It includes a lot of various articles with helpful tips and other information some of it may be old, but it’s still worth a read to understand Android Wear.

Google Fit works great if you are into fitness tracking: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...gle.android.apps.fitness&hl=en&token=wPFyTSqz

For text messaging you can use more customizable apps in-lieu of the stock app: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=com.textra&hl=en&token=cJiUB_CJ

Make sure to download the Wear app from Google: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...gle.android.wearable.app&hl=en&token=CQqsWKBn

The Play Store also has a lot of apps for you to discover: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ore/apps/category/ANDROID_WEAR&token=xM8I5vLi

If there’s any particular questions or interests you have feel free to let us know and we’ll try to help – enjoy your new smart watch!

I've had the original LG G Watch, and now own the 2015 360, and Huawei Watch. The 360 is my favorite by far.

You should activate the developer mode on your watch to access more features and options. Go to the about screen and tap on the "build" line several times in a row to turn on developer mode. One feature that I use from the developer mode screen is to turn off the notification when I lose a wifi signal (which can be irritating).

Welcome!! I really enjoy my 46mm / 2.0 version. Thing runs like a champ.

My fave apps are Intelicom and watchmaker premium. I paid for both and for me its $7~8 in total well spent. There are some really amazing things being done by the open source communities.

I also like the Regal Interactive watch face. I am not sure why but when voice text-ing, its much faster and more responsive than any of the others I have tried, including the OEM motorola faces.

The other app I use a lot is l.ist its a simple check-listing app. I create a grocery list on my phone, it transfers to my watch and I can grocery shop for items, check them off the list without ever taking my phone out of my pocket. Thats all it does... clean and simple. It does not ask for any additional permissions other than location, if you walk out of the store and forget something on the list it will vibrate and alert you. I have never had a problem with excessive battery usage, or background battery drainage, or data usage... something that can hinder other "smart" apps.

My 2 complaints are voice recognition and the omission of a digital compass. A lot of the Sunnto watch faces have the ability to display compass readings, but they are inactive on my moto 360. Voice recognition can be dodgy at times, especially when there is some degree of ambient noise.

Out of box, get a glass screen protector and consider a strap upgrade. At 22mm lug width there are a lot of options. No reason you have to use the OEM strap or bracelet. I use Zulu 4 and 5 ring straps on mine and couldn't be happier... really comfy!!
